Originally I just meant to draw Essek but of course it became shadowgast and a lot more detailed than I was planning woops. I just love their opposite aesthetics and the fire/ice spell choices. They feel very Sun / Moon to me, especially as Caleb is in the process of healing and he’s not in hiding anymore finally walking in the light and Essek is still kinda reeling and lost in the dark in regards to his guilt and regrets. Half the time I was drawing this I had that coldplay song “fix you” stuck in my head and it was weirdly appropriate haha. I think that’s why I ended up reflecting a lot of sunlight onto Essek’s back.
