No but seriously I find the Harbingers frequently showing up to the opera incredibly interesting. My guess is that the opera is the center of the political and social sphere in Snezhnaya. The Harbingers are probably required to make public appearances of various degrees to maintain some kind of united front. As well as a power play and to make sure the other Snezhnayan aristocrats and politicians don’t forget who is really in charge.
It’s even more funny when you know that Pantalone was the one to drag him out of his lab to attend the opera with him. Pantalone probably has to attend events like this to keep up appearances and conduct business within Snezhnaya. He brings Dottore along as arm candy.

They are so cute conspiring together. I’m tempted to get Pantalone’s acrylic stand but I’m going to hold off until my birthday, and I know he’ll get more personalized merch in the future anyway.
So I just spent entirely too much time when I should be doing homework compiling a theory for why Pantalone might be the Electro Sovereign so I'm forcing all of you to be subjugated to my lackluster attempt at theory-crafting
A good portion of credit goes to this post and its commentors on PantaloneMains, but just in general there is something very off about Pantalone. Something to keep in mind is that both the fates of the cryo and electro sovereigns are completely unknown and we don't have so much of a hint of what their situations are. I do think that if Pantalone is the reincarnated electro sovereign he has ZERO idea himself, Dottore didn't know, and I doubt the Tsaritsa or Pierro knew either. Since he doesn't have the electro authority, several other signs point to whatever latent powers he might have being suppressed.
First and foremost look at his ears in Lazzo. You can barely make it out, but they are pointed, and in fact look distinctly different from Dottore's right next to him. It doesn't match the ears used for the elves or the fae, but do you know whose they do resemble?
Third, because the only other sovereign we've come into contact with that had been reduced to a human state was Neuvillette, and we have no idea what exactly happened to the original electro sovereign a lot of things are up in the air. I checked and it appears the only time in-game even alluding to the electro dragon MIGHT have been Nicole's artifact set that implies one of the sovereigns came from the Dark Sea to assist in the war against Celestia. Though as far as I know that doesn't day anything about what might have happened to the electro sovereign later down the line, or even after.
Wings brushed against wings in a dry, whispering hiss, for never since creation had so many angels gathered in one place. As if roused by thunderous war drums, beasts long forgotten by the world caught the scent of blood that tainted the divine. From lightless valleys and the far reaches of the outer seas, the most ancient masters of the earth also came forth to answer the call.
Fourth, this is mainly about other features of his design that I think are odd.
Something about the metal parts of Pantalone's turtleneck and coat looks like something distinctly Inazuman. Several aspects of his design almost remind me of the Thunderbird, which has been theorized to have some kind of connection to the electro sovereign.
I know that is a pretty weak correlation but the devs are always pretty purposeful when it comes to designs, and I probably just don't have the lore knowledge to explain why they look so familiar. Also want to highlight with this photo is Pantalone's eyes. One of the biggest issues with this theory is that Pantalone's eyes are not reptilian the way Neuvillette's are, they are clouded. Even underneath the cloudiness they have a very unique shape compared to other characters and I can almost see where a vertically-slitted pupil could be.
Two more things, Pantalone has faint dragon scales on the inside of his cloak while the pattern on his scarf is a slightly less distinct, but similar pattern. Unless he's trying to mock Rex Lapis, I cannot imagine another reason for this design choice. Also others have pointed out the metal adornments on his back look like wings. Also even on the model sheet you can't see Pantalone's ears and I can't find a photo anywhere with it.
I myself am still not entirely sold on this theory because since he was regularly being examined by Dottore himself it seems kind of weird that he would have found nothing super unusual in his physiology, and I honestly think it would cheapen Pantalone himself if he is something other than human. But I do think there is some substance to the theory itself, if nothing more than Pantalone having some connections to the dragons in one way or the other.

Saw this image while scrolling the other day. I don't know what it is but it resembles the two so closely. Partially because according to their in-game characteristics and first impressions you would think Dottore would be the raven and Pantalone the crow. Crows are smaller and sleeker, have a very short lifespan, typically found in more urban areas and more associated with the "birds like shiny objects" idea than ravens. Ravens are absolutely massive (about the size of a hawk), live in the wild, and have a lifespan of around 30 years.
But what I found much more interesting is that crows are meant to live in large groups. A lone crow is often a terrible omen ("one for sorrow" if you have ever heard the saying) of bad luck and incoming disaster. Very fitting for our favorite heretic that has been denied family, friendship and belonging his whole life.
Ravens on the other hand are monogamous once they reach maturity. While they will cooperate with other pairs whenever there is food or sharing sleeping areas, the two of them work to defend territory and raise chicks.
We don't know much about Pantalone yet, but I wouldn't be shocked if his family died and his core conflict is an external mirror of Dottore's. Pantalone doesn't have the same hangups as Dottore because he had people who cared about him in his youth, they all just died or fell into misfortune or betrayed him. Dottore on the other hand has never had any kind of positive connection that he was not severely punished for in some way. It is written into his fate that he will forever be misunderstood and resented for his ideas.
Also, now that we know Pantalone uses Varka's model, the size difference is much funnier considering we all thought that Pantalone was going to be twinkish for years.
Now I need a Hybrid AU where hulking Raven-Hybrid Pantalone is introduced to this sad, small, socially stunted Crow-Hybrid Dottore and is just like "That one. That's my life partner" and then spends years trying to court him but Dottore doesn't get the message

Imagine Dottore saw her in this beautiful attire and immediately gets conviced that they should have a traditional sumerian wedding can you imagine how beautiful that would be.
If I had a nickel for every time I watched an antagonistic man on a story being shown trying to pursue the female MC's attention to get her to like/join him and being super insistent about it, while the girl is having none of it and ends up rejecting his offers and any attempts to get closer to him, getting into a heated scene wich she is brutally honest about how much she disaproves of this guy's actions and even attacks him (verbally or physically), to wich the guy gets visibly disapointed and frustrated about it that he attacks her, and later on turns into a giant, overpowered version of himself to fight against her and her friends, I would have 2 nickels wich isnt much but God i hope to get to see more cause this genre of relationships is growing on me.
(I think I might be the first person ever to reach this hard to compare a Digital Circus ship to a Genshin Impact ship and I'm not sure how to feel about it)
Thinking about Dottore dancing like a male bird trying to attract a mate around Lumine. We had seen him lowkey walking around her like a predator while sweet talking to her ear, I wouldnt be surprised if at any moment this crow puffed up his feathers and started shaking for her attention.
You can pry the head canon of Dottore secretly being a doting and caring lover to the one person who reciprocates his affection out of my cold, dead hands.
