Who: Open starter Where: New Leaf Bookstore
Whenever Talia was stressed or frustrated, the bookstore was her happy place and had been ever since she rolled into town. Usually. On this particular day, she found the task of finding a book frustrating in itself since she’d gone through the books that was in the care package from her sister. “Sorry. I don’t mean to bother you.” She spoke as she turned to the person near her. “I’m really struggling for inspiration here. I’m hoping you have a suggestion or two?”

She was there to pick up some books for her uncle, the man honestly at the point of filling up their entire cabin to the brim with them if she didn’t put a stop to it, but she couldn’t really deny him. He would lament that she didn’t have the same love of books both he and his brother, her late father, had had for them. They had only managed to instil the same love in her older sister. So, whilst the clerk had been gathering her uncles choices for her, she decided to try and have a look through and see whether anything would catch her eye. When she heard a voice, she smiled a little sheepishly, “Honestly? Not to sound all book hatery I’ve never been a good reader, not that I don’t appreciate a story I just ... don’t have the attention span. I doubt my recs would be good, I usually wait for the movie version.”
Hearing the woman's response, she let out a small chuckle and waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about it. My sister is actually the same way. She's all like 'why imagine the world myself when I can watch a movie and have it just be there?'" Talia imitated her sister pretty well. "I'll just wait for something to jump out at me. Hopefully not literally but in this town, you never know.."
