There was nowhere else in the world she’d rather be.
He led her through the estate, their fingers intertwined. He glanced down at her, seeing the glimmer in her eyes, making his heart flutter. His expression softened at the look of love on her face, his mirroring it with admiration. As they reached the gardens, he took a moment to bask in the beauty of the natural surroundings. “Have I mentioned how beautiful you are today?”
“Yes.” she smiles. “A couple of times.” She puts her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close against his chest. He breathed, his fingers tracing circles on her back. “Sharing this place with you feels right… like everything fell into place…” He tilted his head down, pressing a gentle kiss on her head. “Thank you for being here with me.”
“I could spend forever here with you.” She responds as she takes in everything around her. The way the sun hangs low in the sky, shining perfectly against the garden. The golden hue it illuminates Tamlin’s face with. The warmth of it. She takes in the smell of the garden, the bittersweet scent that engulfs the land. “Thank you for taking me here. I see why you chose this place to clear your head.”
He smiled warmly, feeling a sense of tranquility in her presence. “I wanted to share this special place with you.” His eyes became gentle “This place has seen many of my thoughts, especially when I was feeling lost or conflicted.” He took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of the flora around them. “But standing here with you, it feels different.”
She tilts her head in curiosity. “Different? What does it feel like now?”
Tamlin smiled at her question, his eyes shimmering with emotion. “It feels complete. Before, this place held my thoughts…my fears…” He gazed down at her, his eyes full of adoration. “But now, being here with you, those thoughts seem less heavy… I feel… grounded, anchored in your presence.”
“Tamlin…”
“I’ve missed you.” He breathed, his fingers gently tracing the outline of her face. “Every moment with you feels like I’m coming home… like all the pieces of my existence align when you’re by my side. We’ve only spent a short time together, but I’ve waited my whole life to find you again... as if we’ve shared another. And I’ve never been more sure about anything. You’re home.”
