I keep my mouth shut but I canât anymore this has gone too far. This is not fandom anymore. This is parasocial entitlement that has gone unchecked for too long
The way some of you treat Olivia Ponton simply because sheâs dating Joe Burrow is honestly fucked up
The way some of you talk about her is genuinely disturbing. Not âfandom drama.â Not âcelebrity gossip.â Just Disturbing.
Because if you actually look at whatâs happening, itâs not discussion. Itâs an entire system of hate built around one person.
There are blogs whose entire existence revolves around this womanâs life in order to tear her apart. To dissect her appearance, invent narratives about her personality, and twist every neutral action into proof that sheâs somehow a terrible person.
And the reason? Sheâs dating Joe
Thatâs it. Thatâs her crime.
And when people point out how unhinged that is, the response is always the same:
âShe doesnât deserve my respectâ umm sorry but you clearly havenât realized your not in her life your not dating her
You claim to not be jealous but you fill comments sections continually talking about how much you hate her.
And No. Dating a public figure does not mean she signed up to be the target of thousands of strangers who think their parasocial attachment gives them the right to dehumanize her
And it doesnât stop at blogs or comments, either. Because some of you are so committed to this narrative that you will literally make things up or bring things up from her past and send them into sites like Crazy Days and Nights just to try and ruin her reputation.
Think about how far that is from âharmless gossip.â
Itâs people actively trying to create scandals because theyâve decided she deserves to be torn down.
But the part people really refuse to talk about is how environments like this escalate. Because the internet has normalized hate blogs to the point where people pretend theyâre harmless. Just âsnark.â Just âcommentary.â
And we have already seen where that can lead.
The recent attack by someone who had been active in a Rihanna hate community is exactly why spaces built around obsessive hatred should not be brushed off as âjust snark.â
Because when thousands of people spend years reinforcing the idea that someone is a villain who deserves humiliation, it only takes one person to take that narrative too far.
Most people participating will never cross that line.
But they help build the environment where someone eventually does.
Thatâs why this matters.
Because what starts as âsnarkâ slowly turns into something much darker: a crowd convincing itself that cruelty is justified.
And the fact that some people have decided Olivia Ponton deserves to be the internetâs punching bag simply because sheâs dating Joe Burrow should be a massive red flag about how broken this fandom has become.
At some point people need to stop pretending this is normal because of all you done is build a community around hating a woman youâve never.

Thatâs threats. And it doesnât stop there.
People are following Joe to events â the Super Bowl, flag football games â not to support him, but to track her. To post about her. To analyze her. To keep feeding the same obsessive narrative.
Theyâre messaging his mother saying they wish he had been aborted. Theyâre contacting brands she works with trying to get her fired.
Theyâre flooding comment sections calling her a âcum dumpsterâ and every other misogynistic insult they can think of, while simultaneously tearing apart her appearance piece by piece like she isnât a real person who has to exist in the world and see this.
And somehow this still gets brushed off as fandom behavior. It isnât. Itâs a coordinated pattern of harassment that people are choosing to participate in.
Oh and the irony is impossible to ignore. Because a lot of the same people engaging in this claim to be fans of women â claim to support women â claim to admire artists like Taylor Swift, who has spent her entire career being picked apart, sexualized, and torn down by misogynistic men.
And now they are doing the exact same thing. Helping amplify the same kind of rhetoric and using the same kind of language becoming the same kind of crowd.
You donât get to call out misogyny and then turn around and weaponize it against a woman youâve decided you donât like.
And it gets even more obsessive.
People are tagging Joeâs friends in posts, hoping it will get back to him.
Trying to insert themselves into a relationship that has nothing to do with them.
