Vox’s reaction to Valentino kissing him/ripping his head off is so interesting
When Val kisses him his hand relaxes just the tiniest bit. Like he just said he wanted to kill himself and everyone else but when Val kisses him he forgets about that for a split second.
Then we get the frame with his eyes squeezed shut but when he opens them his eyes are wide open. Also look how small his pupils are.
Then he just looks startled like it’s kicking in what just happened and he looks down at Val. Like is this how you would react if your head just got ripped off? He’s not mad at all which is interesting.
And then he looks confused. Why is he confused? Confused that Val kissed him without any sexual intent? Confused that he kissed him in public?
And here you can see that his pupils flit back and forth just the tiniest bit. If it was an actor I would brush it off but each frame was drawn. This was intentional.
I think Vox is having a little crisis about the kiss because at this moment he is not thinking about how his head just got ripped off. He is working some shit out.

Post season 2 finale. Vox is learning from his mistakes. Or is he.

I did enjoy season 2 a lot more than season 1. The pacing was so much better and enjoyable, the episodes being longer really did a lot for it. The songs are so fucking good, it's really hard to choose a favourite one this time because a lot of them are actual bangers. Gravity, love in a bottle, Vox dei, Brighter. These are the ones i'd say are on top for me, but it is so hard to choose. They really cooked.
I loved to see the shift of dynamic between the Vees especially. We saw how well they work together, they're a fucking threat when they're united. And the slow destruction of that Dynamic by Vox was interesting to watch. I'm especially happy that Velvette and Valentino are NOT passive participants. They are strong and not Vox's puppets. They tried to follow his plans but eventually just snapped and decided to stop him. The Vees truly have that found family vibe that i love so much. They stopped him and are mad at him, yet they save him and keep him with them.
It seems Valentino is taking the mantle of "leader" of the Vees now. I think with that and Angel leaving the hotel, it sets him up as a future villain, hopefully next season, but a man can dream.
My only gripe would be Vox's backstory. Turning him into a bloodthirsty serial killer doesn't do much for his character. I believe having him being an envious and disatisfied nobody stuck in a life he has no control over would do more for him and his obsessive behaviour to strive for control and perfection. I think it would make him more compelling than just yet another murderer.
Overall, i think season 2 was so much better than season 1. I know i'm kind of a Vees simp, but it's not just because of them. The dialogues, the songs, the pacing. It just felt better ! I really enjoyed watching every single episode.
