Benjamin Tallmadge Hot
How I feel right now
You’re telling me… I spent two days staring at microfilm at the Library of Congress and it removed my JSTOR access too?
IT FINALLY HAPPENED: I lost JSTOR access through my university.
For someone who is obsessed with Benjamin Tallmadge it’s funny he just has kinda appeared in my projects before as the Some Guy. I’m like oh hi baby, I love you, but I have to talk about John Andre. Oh hi honey I can’t right now, I have to talk about your troop strength. Oh hi—
I was wondering, because maybe I missed it, but are there no biographies written on Tallmadge? I saw his memoir, but nothing further.
Hello! As far as I know, there is one written on Tallmadge in the last decade, and that’s General Washington’s Commando: Benjamin Tallmadge in the Revolutionary War by Richard F. Welch. I however haven’t read it yet (shocker) because it’s hard to find in print for a decent price, and it’s never been at my university’s libraries. So I can’t speak for its quality, but it’s written by a professor so that’s a plus.
Maybe down the line when I become an official historian, I’ll take on the burden, but it’ll be more about military matters than cool spy stuff.
Last post was inspired by me watching the first episode of The Pacific. Jesus Christ.
Being a military historian who’s into anti-war media >>>>
Benjamin Tallmadge led me places I wouldn’t go with a gun
Just looked at my first grad school syllabus…

I’m 100 percent serious when I say I can’t wait to tear that book to shreds in a review. I will get historiographical about Peggy Shippen historical fiction. It’s that serious because we can’t let them get away with this.
It’s getting serious….
“And how’s that going?”
If Benjamin shows up and I have to hear him say this incredibly wrong dialogue and wrong facts I will have no choice but to die
Also by 1779 they were settling into MORRISTOWN. WHICH WAS WORSE THAN VALLEY FORGE. WHY HAVE THEM THERE. I HATE THISSSSSSSSSSSSSS
IT IS 1779. SEVENTEEN SEVENTY NINE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK UP THE LIST OF ENCAMPMENTS. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
Peggy Shippen, 19: I know what will solve everyone saying my husband is bad with money and embezzling! I shall throw a party that will cost us even more money.
Never mind she’s 18. We gotta kill Benedict Arnold man
