I was wondering, because maybe I missed it, but are there no biographies written on Tallmadge? I saw his memoir, but nothing further.

Hello! As far as I know, there is one written on Tallmadge in the last decade, and that’s General Washington’s Commando: Benjamin Tallmadge in the Revolutionary War by Richard F. Welch. I however haven’t read it yet (shocker) because it’s hard to find in print for a decent price, and it’s never been at my university’s libraries. So I can’t speak for its quality, but it’s written by a professor so that’s a plus.

Maybe down the line when I become an official historian, I’ll take on the burden, but it’ll be more about military matters than cool spy stuff.

I’m 100 percent serious when I say I can’t wait to tear that book to shreds in a review. I will get historiographical about Peggy Shippen historical fiction. It’s that serious because we can’t let them get away with this.
