“Last night I was tucked in and drifting off to sleep when I felt something funny on my face. At first, I just thought it was a hair moving because of my fan. Then, I realized it was traveling so I sat up quick only to find a spider crawling across my pillow. I’m officially not sleeping in my room anymore!“
“That’s almost as bad as running into a web and wondering if the spider was attached to it as the damn thing wraps around your face.”
“We really would, probably cause a traffic jam at the sight of us.” He added, another chuckle escaping his lips as he sat on the stool next to him. “Nah, I’m good, if you couldn’t smell it, I just came from a bbq and ate at least three pounds of barbeque brisket.”
Tucker couldn’t help but laugh at the thought. He wasn’t so sure about a traffic jam, but there were probably a few people that would stop and stare. Maybe they should get some theme music, if they went through with it. “Dude, I’m jealous of your brisket.” Like most of their kind, the shifter could pack away the meat. “I think I’m going to have to fire up a grill one of these days.”
“Unless you’re putting me on a plane that is probably for the best! Plus, wine, you, and a beach? Can you say heaven?!”
“Planes involve other people, and I’d like to keep you to myself. We’re going to make it happen. I’ll look into the details, and you see when you’d actually be able to get time off. If you need more specifics before that, I’ll try to get the info sooner rather than later.”
If Alessandra could blush, her face would be bright red. She felt her body cringe with embarassment. “I-uh, I’m sorry, you looked like a friend I was waiting for.” The blonde cracked a tiny smile. “To make this a little less awkward, hi! I’m Alessandra.”
He offered up a small shrug. “It’s no biggie.” At least the girl wasn’t pissed at the friend she was waiting for; Tucker could only imagine what she would have said then. “It’s nice to meet you, Alessandra. I’m Tucker, but you can call me Tuck.“
Muck. The thought did not pair with her white slacks and lavender pumps. “Yeah, that is not going to happen.” Laughing, she slid into the seat across from Tucker. “Only if you let me dress the coffee. Cream and sugar the way I used to drink it.” Boy, did she miss coffee.
“I didn’t think it would,” he joked, shaking his head. There was no doubt in his mind that Gwen could get dirty, if she really wanted to, but no one would really want jump down into a sewer. Tucker’s lips pursed together for a moment. “I can agree to that, but try not to send me into a sugar shock.” Coffee didn’t do much to the shifter, but he had grown to like the taste over the years. It often perplexed him how people could add so much sweetness to it, though; to each their own.
“I’ll have you know that I’m…” She tried to keep up the offended act but ended up bursting into a fit of giggles. “Yeah, it’s safe to say I’m not the best actor.” She waved her hand as she calmed herself down. “Thanks and will do. She’ll be happy to hear that I found someone I know in this town. She was freaking out when I said I wanted to leave.” Poppy smiled fondly at the memory even though her mom had been nagging her. She knew her mom wanted her to be safe so she couldn’t fault her for that. “Really? It does sound like you’re getting your shit together. I’m happy for you. What about this girl you met, hmm? Is she like us or is she different?”
He couldn’t help but chuckle at the other’s antics. “Hey, I don’t know about that one. I’m pretty sure you could sob story your way out of something, if need be.” Taking a sip of his coffee, he offered up a shrug. “I think they all bug out when it comes to flying the coop. I’m glad to see nothing’s happened to you in your travels.” A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he thought about how life had been since he stumbled upon Forks. “It’s a slow process. We both know I can be indecisive on things. Thanks, though. It’s been a good move. And she’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met, honestly. I’m pretty smitten.” There was no denying the fact that he was all but consumed in the object of his affections. She may have been imprinted on, but he was positive it would still be the case.
Reagan faked a gasp and placed a hand over her chest, as if she were offended. “I am not tiny!” Compared to Tucker she definitely was but that was beside the point. A smile eventually broke out over her face to go along with the soft laughter she was now pushing out. “Seriously, how the hell did you manage to drop them down there?”
His face turned up to an amused expressions at Reagan’s reaction. “Tiny.” Tucker offered up a shrug as he replayed what happened before the sound of the keys hitting metal occurred. “I was reaching into my pocket, and when I pulled my hand out, apparently they tried to escape.”
“You’re not gonna just leave those there will are you?” He Gabriel smiled as he walked over to his large furry friend. Sipping the water that he had filled his coffee mug with. “You wan’t me to grab it?”
Green eyes fell on the vampire as he shook his head. “I’m going back for them when it’s a little darker. I don’t need people asking how I lifted the grate.” Taking a sip of his coffee, he nodded. “Thanks, though.”
“You know, we could disguise ourselves as city workers or something and go in?” Brady said in a slight mutter, knowing the other could hear him. He had a smirk on his face as he walked with him into the diner.
His attention was pulled from the mental berating as he heard the other shifter’s voice. A light chuckle escaped him as Tucker looking in Brady’s direction. “We’d put the Village People to shame.” Shaking his head, he popped a squat on a stool and ordered up a coffee. “Did you want anything?”
“Anyone with cash is what I was told.” She joked back, shooting him a playful glare when he nudged her shoulder. “Easy there, Hercules. You might make me knock over my milkshake.” She paused to take another sip of her milkshake. “Eh, I’m just dandy. My mom finally decided to let me out of the nest, so I’m enjoying the freedom. She said to tell you hi if I bumped into you so… hello. What about you? What’s being going on in the life of Tucker?”
“Oh please, you act like you’re a dainty thing.” Eyes rolled as he took a sip of his coffee. “I’m glad to hear you’re doing good, though. Tell her I said hey, the next time you talk to her.” Shrugging a bit, Tucker turned in his seat and leaned against the counter. “I’ve been pretty good, you know? There’s no complaints in my book. Forks is a place one could definitely call home. Met a girl, have a possible job lined up, and I’m looking into online classes to get my shit together.”
The shifter was clearly having issues that proved to be entertaining for spectators. Gwen was one of those spectators. After he disappeared into the diner the vampire made her way to figure out why he was cursing the drain only to find the keys. This was far too amusing. Leaving them there, she made her way into the diner to find Tucker. “Need help?” She teased.
Green eyes glanced up as he heard the woman speak. Gwen had proved to be a vampire left virtually unfazed by the whole ‘mortal enemies’ thing. Chuckling, he shook his head and took a sip of his coffee. “Unless you’re going to hop down there into the muck, I’m fine.” Motioning towards the seat across from him, he sat back in his own. “Thanks, though. Get a coffee, look normal and I’ll drink it.” He offered her a small smile as he looked to see where the waitress was.

Poppy was sitting at the dinner enjoying a chocolate milkshake when she heard the door bell chime. She didn’t pay much mind to whoever it was until she noticed a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye. With a smirk, she turned in her seat and leaned against the counter. “Hey, stranger. You know, there’s this whole rumor that if you keep making pouty faces it’s gonna stick.” Poppy couldn’t help but tease Tucker as she tried to fight back the excitement that came with seeing an old friend. Or at least, she considered him to be a friend of hers. It had been a while.
Admittedly, he was lost in his own thoughts when the other spoke. Her voice sounded familiar; something he hadn’t heard in ages. Green eyes glanced over causing the man to let out a light chuckle. “They’ll let anyone in this place, won’t they?” A smirk pulled at Tucker’s lips as he reached over and nudged her shoulder. “How you doin’, Poppy? Long time no see.”
“With an attitude as such as that, it’s no wonder you are having problems,” the ancient vampire said with a low chuckle. He wasn’t much for diners. In fact, he wasn’t much for mortal anything, however he needed to have some sort of idea of what this insignificant town consisted of. People watching just happened to be a perk.
“I generally have no attitude,” he spoke, looking up at the vampire. This one wasn’t familiar. Taking a sip of his coffee, Tucker quirked a brow and sized the man up. “New to town?”
Alessandra sat with her back to the door, causing her to turn and look for her company’s arrival. The blonde was happy to finally have made another friend besides the Cullen family, she could tell that they were just a tad bit sick of her being around all the time. It wasn’t her fault, though, Alessandra surprisingly knew no one. She hoped with time she’d become more adapted to her surroundings and the people around her, but for now, she waited. Just as she was about to get lost in her thoughts, she heard the door open again. “There you are! It’s so nice to see you!”
Tucker had aimlessly wandered in to the shop with the sole intention of window shopping. A brow quirked upon hearing the woman’s voice. “Here I am! It’s nice to see you, too -- I think?” He had absolutely no idea who she was.
Reagan couldn’t help but laugh at the scene in front of her. There was something oddly amusing about Tucker pouting over lost keys they both knew he could get with ease. “I had no idea you were that weak.” She smirked as she slid in the booth across from him.
Brows knitted together at the woman’s words, ready to snap back, before he looked up and rolled his eyes. Chuckling at his own antics, Tucker shook his head. “Not all of us could easily hop down there to get them, tiny.”
