Nikolas shook his head. “No … this is my first time actually seeing the world so all of it is pretty new to me. Places included.” He said, letting out a chuckle. “I’m just happy to be alive, I guess you could say. Doesn’t really matter where I am.”

“well that’s just kind of depressing. but also slightly exciting sounding. getting to figure stuff out for the first time. but paris is awesome,” she replied with a small smile. “well i think most people are but that’s fair enough. i’m tam by the way.”

Henrik laughed some. “I have looked in a mirror; but I get distracted and I’ve never really thought ‘attractive’ when looking at myself.” he rambled before jumping to the subject of the drinks. “Daiquiri? Sure,let’s give one of those a shot! Why would people give me a hard time though?” He asked before shaking his head. “No, I’m not a thousand.. .I’m only twenty-three. You were in a coma?” He said simply.

“well trust me. i’m looking at you and attractive is definitely the word,” she replied with a chuckle. “yes. perfect. and maybe if you handle that okay we can go wild and do shots. because it’s fruity and pink and people are stupid,” she replied with an eye roll. “oh well. then that makes more sense. oh, uh, yeah apparently.”

“Attractive…?” He repeated the word in more of a dazed mumble, quickly shaking his head as she asked him questions. “I’m… uh, completely inexperienced.” He admitted. “I want to enjoy myself though.” He added before scratching his neck. “A… thousand years long?” He said sheepishly.

tam chuckled. “yes. attractive. come on. i’m sure you’ve looking in a mirror,” she teased gently. “newbie, huh? well then how about we start off easy with something fun like a daiquiri? don’t let anyone give you a hard time for it, either. well then i will totally help you find the right drink for that,” she offered with a smile. “thousand. wow that makes my 3 year coma look like a kiddie ride. but you’re looking good for a thousand,” she replied playfully.

The smile on the witch’s face turned into more of a grin. “Yeah! We can totally have one of those.” He said. “What, uh, what sounds like a good drink to enjoy? I’ve seen a lot of people come get ‘scotch’ or ‘bourbon’?” He asked before humming. “That’s kind of my situation—haven’t been here in a long time.”

tam grinned back at him. “great. i never turn down a drink with an attractive guy. it’s a policy i have,” she teased with a wink. “how experienced are you in drinking? and depends on how drunk you wanna get. you drink scotch or bourbon straight it goes faster,” she chuckled. “how long is your long?”

Henrik just listened as she listed off what sounded–to him–like random names. They weren’t drinks he was really familiar with. “Uh, you could say that, yeah.” He chuckled softly. “Are you from around here?” he questioned back.

tam chuckled when he didn’t seem to really acknowledge any of the drinks. “well then we could have a welcome to town drink?” she suggested playfully. “uh, yeah. but i haven’t been home in a long time,” she answered with a nod.

There were times Henrik found himself inside places he really didn’t understand. The local bar was one of those places. So many different people; and so many different types of alcohol being served. He was old enough to get himself something to drink–an accomplishment, at least to him–but when the woman spoke up he just shook his head. “I… have no idea.” He said honestly.

tam tilted her head and chuckled. “well they probably have the usual drinks almost every bar has. daiquiris, rum and coke, hurricanes,” she commented. “are you new around here?” she asked him.

tam had felt the need for a drink. after being asleep for so long and feeling overwhelmed by just how much she had missed in those three years, she just needed to let go some. needed it. she entered the bar, hoping no one would ask about her age. she slid onto a barstool and turned to the person next to her. “so what do you think is the best drink here?” she asked.

“I’m guessing Paris is a good place then?” He wasn’t sure, it was the first time he was hearing about it. “Yeah I’ve noticed that, it sucks but I guess it could be worse.” It wasn’t something that he really minded, where would he go anyways? “Yeah maybe, I’ll check it out.”

“you’ve never heard of paris?” she asked, raising her eyebrows. she wasn’t sure she’d ever met someone who hadn’t at least heard of the famous city. “yeah i guess it could be worse,” she replied with a nod. “sounds like a good plan.”

“Well this isn’t so bad.” Nikolas said, more to himself as he walked down the street. He could’ve been sent to a much worse place. He didn’t like the fact that he was stuck here, but there was nothing he could do about it so might as well make the most of it. Plus, the town didn’t look so bad. “Just need to find a place to stay now." 

“well it’s not paris or anything but it’s not too shabby. it’s not the worst place to live. well except apparently no one can leave,” she chuckled with a small shrug. “well i think there’s a motel around or you might be able to find someone to rent a room out.”

“I’m sorry… I just.. I missed you.” PJ said with another smile.. She was happy that her cousin was finally up and able to move around. “That’s understandable. You were down and out of action for a long time. We can go get whatever you want.”

“you’re fine pj. don’t worry. i missed you too,” she said softly. it was still strange for her. it had only been a matter of months to her since she last saw them all. “i get it’s all kinda...weird,” she admitted. “exactly. come on. pizza time.”

“Yeah… Sure.” PJ said to her cousin with a smile before pulling the girl into a hug. “Should you be up and moving around though? Shouldn’t you be resting?”

tam chuckled as the other girl pulled her in to hug her. “hello to you too,” she replied. “probably but i got antsy. couldn’t stay in bed anymore.”

The funny thing about adult children, they never seem to age. It seemed like her daughter did not change at all since the last time that she saw her, so a whole lot of emotions seemed to build up in Paige’s body. She wanted to pull her into a hug, but she had to control herself till the girl actually knew that she was her mom. “Yes, Darling, It’s me your mom.” she said to the girl. She hopped that would make the girl happy.

tam let out a sigh of relief. she just needed her mom after finding out what she had and with everything going on. she didn’t say anything to her before making a beeline for the woman, wrapping her arms around her. “mom.”

“There’s a place not far from here called The Grill, it’s got the best food you will find in town.” That wasn’t saying a whole lot, but at least it would direct the red head in the right direction for a good slice. 

“the grill is still around? yesss. i freaking loved the grill before i left,” she chuckled. she just needed to eat something really before her stomach went nuts.

“Tam??” PJ said, the shock evident in her voice. She was shocked seeing her cousin up and walking around after her being in a coma for so long. 

tam turned and smiled slightly at her cousin. “hey peej,” she replied. she knew she should probably be resting. but she wasn’t sure she could spend any more time in bed. “you wanna get pizza? i’m seriously starving.”
