like… he never had a chance to make connections or form real bonds. he’s always known how to play the part, tell everyone what they want to hear, be so proactive and emotionally intelligent — has he ever even had an opportunity to make those more intimate, genuine social connections.

when he fucks up with you for the first time, he doesn’t know what to do. he panics. he runs. he shows up at your door hours later, a completely wreck, and he has no idea what to even say, how to open up a conversation after what just happened. what comes out of his mouth is, “please don’t leave me.”

because in his mind, mistakes are always the end of things. he’s never been afforded second chances.

it’s another bird thing. Keigo is fastidious, very meticulous about his home cleaning and personal grooming, and that trickles down to you. he’s always primping you, not even consciously or because it bothers him. he just notices you have a stray hair or your collar is crooked or you’re biting your lip, and he adjusts you without thinking, will reach out and redo an out of place button mid-sentence if he spots it. he takes good care of what belongs to him, and that includes you.
