Finally our nomination process for homecoming royalty begins. The purpose of homecoming king and queen is to represent the student body and exemplify the spirit of our wonderful school! 

The entire Homecoming court will be expected to participate in the Homecoming parade that takes place before the Homecoming football game and attend the Homecoming Dance that will take place after the football game in the main gym.

The Queen and King will be announced at the dance!

If you are chosen as one of our school royalty what will you do to promote a positive environment at Clarendon Hills High School? If you are nominating someone else, how do you think they would promote a positive environment at Clarendon Hills High School? (A few sentences are enough)

I believe I should be chosen for homecoming princess, because I would use my voice for the ones who have spent their last years not being heard. I know my creativity, my assertiveness and compassion will contribute to the school’s mission to not only promote a positive environment but a school that allows everyone to be the best version of themselves without shame or fear. I’m a dreamer, and if I can become homecoming princess, then so can anyone!

I might not be an obvious choice, but I am kind, empathic, passionate and I always give 100% at everything I do and set my mind to. My brother has been homecoming prince two years in a row now and my sister, Caroline Foster, was homecoming queen back when she was in her senior year. Our family history speaks for our success and I’d be very grateful, if i got the chance to proof myself.

Do you wish Alycia would try a little harder to be social? Do you get annoyed when it gets awkward?

“I don’t really get annoyed, no. Maybe sometimes I have to roll my eyes, but I don’t mind saving the awkward situations. It’s what I’m good at and we’re a team. Of course I wished she’d put herself out there more so people could see how great she really is. Seriously! Aly’s one of the funniest people I know. We would supposedly have a higher chance at making ourselves more visible at school if she came out of her shell more since I feel like I’m doing the job for the both of us sometimes, but we’re making progress.”

Would you care about what dating someone would mean for you socially? Would you date a 'loser'?

“This is a stupid question. Of course I wouldn’t date a ‘loser’ if I had to choose. Also that’s a very loose word to describe someone. I’m practically considered a loser myself right now if we’re looking at the food chain at this school, and I’m hardly one. I’m going to be honest, but I don’t think I could be with someone who people would give me strange looks for. I mean, unless... they’re actually really cool and everything I dreamed of? Maybe then I would? That makes me sound like a horrible person. I’ve just always... dreamed of meeting my Noah Flynn. Or Peter Kavinsky.”

“He was! Hello, he let you choose his cereal and said he trusts your taste. Trusts your taste, Aly. This is flirting. No one’s ever said that to me. Or at least from people I’ve had crushes on. Lucas excluded. He’s kind of like my brother now and it’s weird, so I’m trying not to think of him like that anymore. But he also sometimes asks me about cereal and breakfast. Anyway, this is not about me and also very different. We’re at school, soo. You can walk up to him! Once you see him by himself, take the chance. Like I said, there’s something in the aaair, I feel it.”

And you still haven’t sent him a single message when the guy was obviously flirting with you."

“True. Charlie’s perfect, we been knew. [..] By the way.. don’t you think him and Dani were a little too cosy at the party on Saturday?”

Honestly, I think no boy has self respect when it comes to.. like, sleeping with someone. At least it sure doesn’t feel like it. Nice hair and nice boobs and here we are, the rest clearly doesn’t matter. ”

“I mean. We only got here ten minutes ago, but I agree, it was real tough. Yes, Aly. As in bad nose job. Which is funny, because have you ever seen Mina’s mom before? I don’t think they are, no. And while I agree on the most part, I’m sure there’s good guys out there who don’t only care about nice hair and nice boobs, but about brains and humour. Somewhere. Probably not at this school, though.”

“I know! I couldn’t wait to tell you. I was as unbelieving as you are! Although I was eating my caesar salad and almost choked on my chicken. A sad rhinoceros? Didn’t she say his nose is a sad looking rhinoplasty result? Or something? Whatever, both isn’t nice. This witch. I’m wondering how that even came to be. I could not sleep with someone who’s been bullying me for years. Does he not have some self respect?”

“Okay, you’re reaching. She doesn’t look that good. She is pretty, alright. I give her that. But a new haircut and boobs don’t make up for the ugliness she has inside. I said what I said. Also, you’re ten times prettier than she is. Know what I heard? Apparently she lost her virginity to Peter Walker over the summer. Yup. I’m not kidding. Ronnie told me and she knows from Aron who’s Lucy’s cousin, who’s, as we know, Mina’s best friend.”

Watch me be with Mina and Lucy in Chem. I can just already tell that’ll be the case. Who am I gonna roll my eyes at? I’ll have to suffer in silence until I can tell you about it after. ”

“Uh, but you can always text? Duh? Mrs. White only pays attention to the people in the back as we know, so as long as you make sure to sit in the front .. she’ll never know. You know, you’ve got to be bad once in a while too. It’s fine, I promise. [..] Ugh. Speaking of the devils....”

“Right now I’m only picking up yours and you, my friend, did not pass the the vibe check. Therefor we have PE, English and Spanish together. And look! Calculus too. Oh, and let’s not forget the Drama Club. Cheer up. Plus, Mrs. White has always liked you the best out of everyone and that’s a fact.”
