I could not sleep with someone who’s been bullying me for years. Does he not have some self respect?”

“ I can’t believe you managed to keep it in until now. Rhinoplasty! That was it. As in bad nose job, right? Yeah, true. I don’t know! I’d love to know as well. But they’re not dating or anything now? Honestly, I think no boy has self respect when it comes to.. like, sleeping with someone. At least it sure doesn’t feel like it. Nice hair and nice boobs and here we are, the rest clearly doesn’t matter. ”

Watch me be with Mina and Lucy in Chem. I can just already tell that’ll be the case. Who am I gonna roll my eyes at? I’ll have to suffer in silence until I can tell you about it after. ”

Charlie’s smile got wider when he listened to the girl, sudden recognition settling in his features the longer he looked at her face. “Hey, hey. Wait a minute,” he started when she was about to flee. “I know you, right? You gave me the tip about Bombobear opening a store at Lake Ave a few months back on Instagram,” Charlie remembered their small online encounter, even though never having met. “Aly, isn’t it?”

Aly could feel her heart still beating faster as Charlie continued to look at her and ultimately even recognised her. A momentary grin spread over her face as she heard her name come from his mouth for the first time. He actually, genuinely remembered her. “ Yeah! And you’re Charlie. ” He probably knows that. Ugh. “ We came to one of your parties at the beginning of summer. Me and Tammi. Benji’s sister. Actually.. I think it might’ve not been your party. But I, yeah. I saw you there, too. ” Great. Let’s turn down the eagerness a little.. “ You were away, right? Did you just get back? ” Not.. like this. Way to seem like a stalker.

“Okay, I’m glad,” Charlie said, evidently relieved as he looked at her. A smile appeared on his face as the amusement of the situation hit him. “Come on, I’ll help you up.” He got up from the kneeling position he was in and held out his hand, pulling her up. “Wait, you dropped this,” he said once she was standing again, walking over to her phone and picking it up from the floor in one swift motion. He held it out to her. “I hope it’s not broken, you’ve got quite the throw.”

Alycia looked at his outstretched hand for a moment before she caught on, hoping severely that her hand wasn’t sweaty. “ Thanks, ” she said with a smile as she came to stand in front of him, noticing how tall and broad and good he looked from so up close. “ Oh, I got it, don’t wor––, ” she started but Charlie had already bent down and was now handing over her phone which was loudly playing Tammi’s TikTok in a loop. “ Thanks. Again. ” Her ears were hot, but she managed a casual seeming laugh at his joke. “ Oh, no, no. It’s okay, it’s been through worse. Uhm.. ” Her mind was grasping for anything to say and elongate their encounter, something to strike up a conversation and she had to think of Tammi or her sister. What would they say? They were good at these sorts of things. “ Anyway. Sorry again. I’ll go find.. cereal now. Yay, exciting stuff.. But have a good day! ”

”Oh fuck.” Charlie expressed as he collided with the other, causing them to fall on their behind in front of him. “Fuck. Sorry, I wasn’t looking,” he expressed genuinely, getting down to their level to look at their face, down to their legs. “Are you okay?”

Aly had been sent on a hunt for laundry detergent and cereal her sisters would like by her mom who was busy in the produce section. She took her time as she used the opportunity to look at the new TikTok Tammi had made and had sent to her for feedback, which caused her not to notice the stranger in front of her until she was already on the floor. “ Ow, ” she complained reflexively, her phone scattering across the floor. Her eyes bulged as she realised exactly who she had just literally run into. Which.. of course. The day she goes sweatpants Walmart shopping with her mom she runs into Charlie Sullivan. Her heart was suddenly beating very fast, though she tried for a smile as he came down to her level. “ I, yeah. I’m okay, sorry. Sorry, I wasn’t.. I wasn’t paying attention either. I was.. my phone. ” She helpfully supplied as an explanation. “ Are you okay? ”
