In October we rescued a dog from the Humane society, called Benson. There was a lot of interest wanting to know how he was getting along, so I decided to start a blog. I really enjoy writing about him, and his adventures with his new family, so much so, that I now very rarely write on Tampayorkshirerose. So if you are interested in following Benson, please click on the link and follow his blog.Thanks.

Benson;
Twas the night before Christmas
And everything was still
Two-Legs were all sleeping
After eating their fill
Harvey and I were nestled, all snug in our beds
While visions of doggie treats danced in our heads
When outside the room there arose such a clatter
I listened in tight to...
Someone's coming..
Benson; Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming.
I’m so excited.
Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming…Santa’s coming..
Hey Two-Legs, who’s Santa?
Merry Christmas to all our friends…Two-Legs and Four-Legs
Love from
Benson and Harvey

Relaxing on a sunny afternoon..
I see you Mr Harvey..
Chilling on a sunny afternoon
Waiting....
Yoshi waiting for his friend Harvey to arrive, when he realizes, it's the wrong day!
Harvey's new toy.. Looks a lot like him! #harvey #shihpoo #babybadger #petco
The one where I cried like a baby
I remember when I was younger, my friends and I used to play a game, Would you rather...? And one of the questions was, would you rather be blind or deaf?..Silly and totally incorrect I know, but it did make you think how very hard it must be without one of these senses that we totally take for granted every day.
15 years ago I had Lasik eye surgery, and I have always said that it was one of the best things I have ever done. I started to struggle with my distance vision last year, so 4 weeks ago, I decided to have laser eye surgery again. This time, I had to have the new (modern) PRK surgery, I won't bore you with all the squeamish details, but apparently this is what lots of eye surgeons and air-force pilots have - Great, if its good enough for Maverick then its good enough for me! The surgery went well and I trotted off home to take it easy for the rest of the day..
And then the numbing eye drops wore off...!
For two days the pain was really bad, I didn't want to ever leave my darkened bedroom. Even the merest hint of light would send my nerve endings into spasms, and my eyes would just continually pour tears as if thousands of onions were being peeled right in front of me, and even though it hurt to cry, I cried like a baby, thank heaven for painkillers...I thought it would never end, but of course it did.
And then my Husband had the same procedure.. I think this pretty much sums up how he felt...need I say more!
The poor soul shut himself away in the darkness of the bathroom, his pain seemed to be going in a whole new direction, and in the end I had to call the emergency number. Plenty of Vicodin later, we found out that he had lost one of his protective contact lens, and that was why he was experiencing a lot of pain.
After the pain came the blurriness, although my nearsightedness was fantastic, anything further than my stretched arms was out of focus. This is what made me remember my old childhood game, but, as they say Time is a healer, and now after 4 weeks, our eyesight is getting better, although they say it can take up to 6 months to fully see the results.
This week we celebrated the first day of spring, and about time too...and like all things new, I like to do a few facial peels on myself before the summer starts. Its always a good idea, sloughs away all the dead skin, evens out my skin tone and its great for anti aging..If your skin is going to shed, days 3 and 4 are the worst
So..
There I was, peeling and flaking away, checking up on Facebook, and noticing all the pics of friends taking #Nomakeupselfies declaring they were doing it for Breast cancer, a very worthy cause.
So I was waiting for the nomination. Waiting and peeling...Waiting and peeling...
And then it came.
I spent the next 24 hours scouring the bathroom mirror, waiting for the right moment to take the dreaded selfie! And when the moment finally did come. I lathered my face with moisturizer, tried to pick out the best light and take the pic without looking like a complete gawk!
I just don't know how these girls do it, how they manage to look so cool with their pics, they must either practice for hours or take hundreds of pics till they find the right one. I have to say, that is what I did, well not hundreds, but a fair amount, at least 10, but no more than 20...honest!
And then I got to thinking about the whole thing, yes it was a brave thing we all did, but what about the bravery that many, many people go through every day with Breast cancer...My pic now seemed painless as did my donation to the cause, and to all my friends who were brave enough, you all looked absolutely beautiful.
Lastly, I have a new favorite film..Well done to the great Richard Curtis...He did it again!
That's all for now

We ran out of tea this morning-The sweetest package arrived this afternoon-Phew just in time!! Thanks to the wonderful Tracy xx
Harvey's nap time destroyed!
