about halfway through the ministry of time and it’s deeply strange for me to not be approaching this in a “fan of amc’s the terror” type of way but rather in a “I have very intricate scans of all the franklin expedition corpses on my computer because I have written papers about possible cannibalism during one of their encampments” type of way

I decided to post this here as a joint review because both books have very similar themes. (which is not a fault! they’re in the same series)

Cat Sebastian really knows what she’s writing about when it comes to the history of it all. I really appreciated that she allowed it to exist in the space that the time period provides. Homophobia is very prevalent and it is still illegal to be gay, but communities still exist. However I feel like this is much more true in the first book than the second and I think that’s why I liked it more.

anyway!! overall two incredibly fun reads!!

okay I finished this last night and did I like it as much as the first? probably not! but it was still a fantastic book and i’m looking forward to what comes next!

I am really loving cat sebastian’s mid century series because you can tell that she is a reader and really understands the history of new york at the time.

it’s just so so so refreshing!!
