When on a motorcycle trip, there comes a time when you find yourself all alone on the road, and tho you’ve been alone for quite some time now, you just now realize that you’re the only human soul out here, and at first a bit of fear sets in cuz you know if you get a flat or if your bike takes a shit right now you’d be fucked! and of course that little hi tech compass in your dirty denim pocket won’t get any Service way out here; So you’re shitting bricks for about a mile or so. But then you notice the sun is starting to set and all that fear dissolves, and subtly and somehow also rapidly the sky transforms in watercolor paint, and it’s Beautiful, it’s always beautiful. I’ve always preferred sunsets to sunrises, you always get caught in a sunset it’s always so unexpected (tho it happens every day around the same time) it’s always very pleasant, because chances are if you’re witnessing a sunset, you’re probably in your friends backyard smoking weed or something just shootin’ the shit; or better yet, you’re out with some girl. If you’re looking at the sun rise most likely you’re up way too early stuck on the 405 freeway on your way to a job you can’t stand. but lets not digress. So you’re out there all alone, you and the asphalt, the stained Canvas sky, and those little bugs that sometimes splatter on your sunglasses and most importantly that unexplainable, satisfactory feeling of —Ah YES, this is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing at this exact moment at this exact time in this exact place, with this exact body and this exact mind, the road is all mine, the world is all mine, I’m all alone in this world and it’s great.— The funny thing is when people are all alone at home (indoors) their comfortable little prison cell, they say they’re lonely, and sick with loneliness. But When you find yourself alone outside, in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but your memories and all five human senses to entertain ya, all you feel is a delightful sense of freedom, from everything, especially yourself. and just like that, you feel, and become connected; to everything.

Tattoo I did on Andrew Earl, an original design I’ve had hangin’ in my station for a year or so, and he asked for it.
