Sister in law: Do you plan to return my son anytime soon?

Sister in law: like A week ago.

Me: Sorry, I’m use to him living with us all summer.

Me: I married Mike senior, so Mike junior is nothing.

Sister in law: Just keep him until you no longer can stand him.

So we get the kids geckos....

After 4 months of research and educating themselves. We get them Leopard Geckos.

Now I had lizards and frogs as a kid. I did research. Basically same care. Okay cool.

I grew up in the “ranch”. My husband grew up 5 miles from me in the “ranch”. My daughter grew up in the “ranch” and an actual ranch at her dads. My stepson has been trapped in a bubble of being indoors his whole life, yet he livid in this tiny ass town on a back road he could’ve easily played outside....

I know I grew up chasing lizards! I know my husband grew up chasing lizards! I know daughter grew up chasing lizards!

So we fucking bought the kids Geckos......

Why the fuck am I the only one willing to hold these little creatures? Why is my entire family afraid of holding them?

I have to keep reminding them that they sense the fear they are leaking to the room! I had to chase them out of the room so at least someone in this house bonds with them!

Yes yes baby steps......

But seriously! It would’ve been cheaper and easier to buy them a statue!

When you only know one employees name, we all become that employee.

So I’d like to congratulate my staff on the name change.

All of them now conveniently named Tori.

Including my mother and brother, and 4 employees who have livid locally their entire lives, including the 1 that came with the store!

A year ago on my birthday my state started to close down.

In this last year I have-

1. canceled 3 annual vacations

2. Had 2 concerts canceled

3. Watched my grandmother decline via FaceTime

4. Been an essential worker

5. Been physically assaulted

6. Been verbally assaulted

7. Gone head to head with anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers

8. Allowed my mental health decline

9. Been extremely relieved that my husband decided to quit working at the jail, a month before a massive outbreak happened.

10. Won custody of my stepson and removed him from a bad situation.

March 10th 2021 I gave myself the best Birthday gift, I got my first dose. In my 34 years I have NEVER felt such relief was over me.

Today I go for my second dose.

I’m an emotional wreck.

I get to go see my grandma this summer.

I get to feel my mental health slowly improving.

I have no regrets in doing my part. But the sense of things improving and going back into a small sense of normal, is helpful.

It’s so odd, my husband and I were looking at OLD photos the other day and he legit only knows 4 people I hung out with, 6 if you include my brother and sister-in-law and 2 he knows because of them. 1 was our wedding photographer and the other is my daughters uncle.

Then you got his group of high school friends and he’ll go talking about them and we end up going back and forth with stories about them. Like some of these guys I’d party with, others were stupid ass customers. I’ve known the guy since he was 6, he played t-ball with my brother! And our path never crossed besides the store.

I joke though that my soulmates are his brother and our sister in law. The fates were determined to keep us 3 together. Only 1 relationship I had never had our paths crossing.

#bank line is long and got my thinking #of how odd it was that we never crossed paths before.#but saint jock never went out.

So I MUST report a employee catching Covid with in a 4 hour period so my business can be publicly shamed on a list.

But it’s optional for DOH to contact us and give us guidance on what to do within the 24-48 hour period we were given.

It’s okay, I arranged it so the only employee with contact with the other employee got tested and she came back negative. We already sanitized the building. Though we know where the employee caught it and it wasn’t from work.

So when I place a take out order and I see it’s him making our pizza, I always send him one of those encouraging messages.

Today was “treat my pizza like the most important pizza you’ve ever made.”

One year and three months later!

My hairdresser of 20 years just called to cancel my hair appointment due to the “reset” the governor ordered. Not surprised.

She tells me she’ll schedule me for two weeks.

I laughed.

She laughed.

She said she’ll text me with a date when she reopens.

Due to her being high risk and my daughters grandma being high risk, I’m one of the few people she trusts to be doing the right thing, so I get to stay on her list of clients.

Well then this woman fucking tells me she’s fucking glad for the 2 week break because....

SHE HURT HER FUCKING ARM THIS WEEKEND AND IT GIVES HER TIME TO HEAL WITHOUT HAVING TO FUCKING ARGUE WITH PEOPLE!

Y’all! All y’all mother fuckers!

HAIRDRESSERS ARE HUMANS TOO!

No they’re NOT going to your house to do your hair during lockdown!

If they cancel do NOT throw a tantrum!

Do NOT try to squeeze in to someone else’s appointment!

FUCK! She shouldn’t be THIS excited over a two week lockdown. If your hairdresser has to cancel, do not be fucking trash! They get injured and sick too! Things happen in their lives too!!
