A female octoling who is a bit too nice for her own good. She is often very happy and will either squid bag or booyah at anyone or anything. Sometimes she even does it for no good reason.

Residence: Taquito lives with her fathers near Inkopolis Square until she eventually moves to Splatsville with her lovers.
Education: High School (somehow)
Socioeconomic Status: Upper middle class (while living with her fathers)
Childhood: Her biological parents are currently deceased. This is due to them fleeing from Octarian society while Taquito's mother was gravid. However, when it came time for the mother to lay eggs they were both unaware that their animalistic instincts would take over. Her mother would be constantly guarding her eggs to the point of near starvation and her father would constantly worry until the day her mother caved and ate him with the hopes of seeing her eggs hatch.
Eventually the eggs do hatch, but unfortunately for Taquito's mother they begin to consume each other in a fight for survival. The mother is horrified by this, as she was unaware that would happen, but is unfortunately too weak to stop it and faces her demise when some of her children start consuming their mother in her weakened state.
Eventually, she is found and taken in by her two adoptive fathers. One of them initially had the suspicion that Taquito is an octoling however, that suspicion was quickly dismissed by the other as octolings are thought to be extinct. As a result Taquito is raised thinking she's a deformed inkling.
During her school years she was often pitied or looked down upon by adults because of her assumed deformities. She would often have these unexplainable cravings and urges which concerned her parents. Despite their concerns, they would get dismissed every time they brought it up to professionals thinking it was just another one of her abnormalities. Taquito was rarely bullied by her peers due to her sweet nature making others feel guilty about doing so. She didn't have any true friends as none of her peers ever reached out to her yet would express delight if she joined them, making Taquito put in all the effort in maintaining the friendship. She would go on to think that this is normal for all kinds of relationships until she is shown otherwise when she makes real friends not long after.
It wasn't until Off the Hook started making waves and hosting the news that Taquito would begin to question her genealogy. While Marina was seen as an exotic inkling to many, Taquito saw most of the similar features or "deformities" they both had in common. Despite bringing up the similarities and her concerns to her fathers they simply conclude that she must also be exotic. It wasn't until after Marina reveals that she is an octoling that Taquito learns she was never an inkling. She would begin to experience discrimination for the first time from inklings, the very species she had once thought she was part of.
Not long after one of her fathers would mention the suspicions he had about her true species in a conversation. This makes Taquito feel as if she had been lied to by one of the people who raised her. This then escalates into a fight with both Taquito and her father saying things they both regret and Taquito running away for several months.
During the time she ran away, even more octolings started showing up in Inkopolis. She attempts to communicate with another octoling to gain answers about her own species. Unfortunately due to the language barrier and misreading Taquito's body language, the encounter turns hostile. This ends with Taquito biting the other octoling's tentacle in self defence and instead of spitting it out, she swallows it. This in turn freaks out the other octoling and the people watching. It was then that Taquito had finally understood her urges and tendencies as cannibalistic. Overwhelmed, Taquito runs to where she had been staying with a friend at the time.
A few weeks later Taquito has a more positive encounter with another octoling where they shed some information about Taquito's habits. They tell her about the nature of octoling reproduction and that she likely ate her siblings and possibly her mother. When she inquires about potential cannibalism, she learns that octolings grow out of these urges not long after hatching and that any urges or tendencies at her age are not normal. Taquito then learns about the history of her species and the Great Turf War. This ends in her thanking the other octoling for their time and her going home distraught from all the information she had just learned.
She then goes to where she had been staying temporarily and experiences her cravings again. This causes her to feel extreme guilt for having them and the act of eating some of her biological family members despite it being nature's calling. With her feelings of guilt she falls into a funk.

•Potential accomplice to some of Bipi's crimes.
Political Beliefs: Though she is much less averse to inklings than Bipi, she can't help but feel a little bitter towards them and their history with her species. Some of her bitterness may also stem from the fact that she thought she was one of them for a very large portion of her life.

Biggest Regret: Upon being informed by one of her fathers about his suspicion of Taquito's true species, she feels as if he has been lying to her. This then escalates into a fight with Taquito running away from home for nearly six months. Upon her return, she and both of her fathers reconcile.
Fears: Her biggest fear is losing control of herself and eating not only innocents, but those closest to her as well.
Introvert or Extrovert: Taquito is very extroverted and will "Booyah!" at anyone. She will happily join squid parties and get up to shenanigans in lobbies between matches.
Optimist or Pessimist: Taquito is optimistic while still being realistic.

•Taquito calling Splatfests "squid events" is her fathers fault due to both of them calling it that in an attempt to connect with the youth.
