The guitar Kurt Russel smashed in this scene of Hateful 8 was not a prop; it was loaned out by Martin Guitar Museum. It was made in the 1870s. It was not switched out for one of the several prop replicas and Jennifer Jason Leigh’s actual reaction to the genuine guitar being smashed was kept in the final cut.
