King's Cup Thailand R2 3 weeks ago in Chanthaburi was extra tough cause I fell sick just before, and was racing with a fever feeling rather.. well.. weird.. it was 30°C and sunshine, but I felt cold and miserable.. y'know what I mean.. a mix up with the start time meant also that I missed my start in the 30s category.. so.. I raced the Elite, which is 30km compared to 20 and tougher competition, which is fine only if my bike was up to the high standards yet as well (think disc wheel etc.. it also turned out that my rear wheel's aluminum rim was cracked around a spoke nipple later as well haha).. managed to do 348W avg (~10% less than my previous TT), but was also losing watts (and speed/time) on the downhill parts due to not having big enough gears.. it was a lumpy course with some 3-5% sections up/down and massive tailwind going out (mostly dh).. being on 52/11, wished I had a 56 on the front instead.. much of the fast competition was not present though due to Asian Road Championships in Myanmar, so I got 4th with the 43 minutes long ride of pain.. another good learning experience and good fun still.. next week it's time for R3 in Khanchanaburi yet again a similarly lumpy course, but I am prepared, no more sick, well recovered and stronger, feel awesome, got my 56 ring ready thanks to OsymetricTH and a disc wheel as well thanks to @OptimaBike so it's going to be great, can't wait! 😊👌🍓🚴♀️🇹🇭 #OptimaBike #OptimaOmega #ForzCycling #TeamVegan #StravaProveIt https://www.strava.com/activities/1398828359 (at Chiang Mai, Thailand)
