A landmark lawsuit has ended with the release of the Little Mermaid from her controversial sentence.

In 1837, mermaid Lille Havfrue was sentenced to 300 years of providing good deeds to humanity in order to acquire a soul and ascend to heaven.

On Sunday, Judge Grimme Ælling ordered God to provide Havfrue a soul and back pay for 186 years of service. Crowded supporters of the #FreeLille campaign greeted Havfrue with applause as she exited the court building.

This isn’t to disregard any of what this person said, but Shauna didn’t have Mari scalped. She had her hair chopped off & wore it around like a trophy for her party gown, but there was no indication that Mari had been scalped.

I don’t think the writers really thought things through when this was written into the show, but while Mari unfortunately faced the ritual of POC especially WOC having their hair be a way of dehumanization she wasn’t scalped. She was given the worlds worst hair cut though.

In the colder areas of its range, this species hibernates through the winter. To prepare for this long rest, individuals gorge themselves with food—including insects, fruit, and crustaceans. A raccoon dog can gain up to 50 percent of its weight during this process, and at its peak, an individual can weigh up to 22 lbs (10 kg).
