my dream as a fanfic writer is for one day, one of my fics to be someones comfort fic. like the fic that they reread when they don't feel good and want to be happy. i want my words to comfort someone one day

I had forgotten this line. Definitely going to include it in a fic I'm working on.
If I had to add one F bomb to the Blacklist, this is where I would put it. Mostly because I say this to myself almost every fucking day. So, solidarity, Lizzie. Solidarity.
"You have to become comfortable with the fact that most people who enjoy your fic will never bother to kudos or comment on it."
Shockingly, I am comfortable with this fact. Lack of kudos or comments doesn't bother me.
That doesn't mean it shouldn't change.
If you enjoy a fic, leave a kudos or a comment.
It didn't really occur to me until I started writing, but comments/kudos fuel writers. And it is a completely free way for readers to encourage more content from their favorite writers. No where else in society can you offer someone a compliment and they be so pleased they turn around and hand you a small book.
“why isn’t there any fic about (x)?” there can be a fic that is precisely about what you want to read. just start writing that fic for yourself.
“but I’m not a writer” every writer has had their first time writing. most writers start with writing something they want to read. your work doesn’t have to be perfect, because having 1 fic that is precisely about what you want to read, even if it’s not perfect, is still better than having 0 fics about what you want to read.
the self-indulgent fanfiction will continue until morale improves
The methed-out brain squirrels drug me away from a perfectly decent slow-burn soulmate AU and dumped me into a random abduction/"me for her" scene I wrote months ago and pulled out of a now-published fic because it didn't fit with the plot. So now apparently I'm writing a post-S5 "not the daddy" confrontation because the damned brain squirrels won't leave me alone.
Yes, I do comment on every single piece of fanfiction I enjoy because that's the social contract I was raised in fandom under.
what fucking hell dimension are y’all blogging from
Omg please stop it's so unsettling
first time writing fanfiction of a character : uughh i hope this is all canon accurate... it cant be canon innacurate at all or the enitire fandom will throw rocks at me...
