If anyone's wondering why/where I suddenly disappeared: turns out, having no Wi-Fi for over a week is no fun.
At all.
I couldn't get on here (I mean, I could, technically, via mobile data, but for some reason Tumblr wouldn't let me see the activity page nor send a new post and the dashboard loaded in dribs and drabs... all in all, ugh 😤) which hit me more than I thought it would because, apparently, I fell so in love with the local Lizzington fam that I missed you like dear friends this past week, you fabulous rays of sunshine 😘
I couldn't even make gifs because I edit them via a site, not a program (double ugh 😤).
But now the Wi-Fi is finally back, so expect lots of posts from me in the approximate future! 😉
Glad to have you back!
(gif was made by factoseintolerant but I couldn't find it via gif search)
Thank you!
Oh, my baby Liz is so happy. I hate the show for crushing that happiness and her.
I think it would be safe to say that we all hate this show for this reason.
Among lots of others, of course, but that's the primary.
Also, for not letting Liz, Red and Agnes (and uncle Dembe who probably arranges playdates for his granddaughter and Agnes) be the cute little family they deserve to be and for not letting Agnes to have her wonderful, loving parents not fighting each other in their ridiculous wars but actually being happy together and, therefore, giving her the happy (even though it would never be normal when your parents are a spy-turned-criminal-mastermind and a profiler/FBI's Special Agent/a daughter of a Russian and an American spies/occasional partner in crime of said criminal mastermind... but that's okay – she wouldn't want any other parents and family, which consists half of FBI and Mossad agents and half of criminals and spies of all kinds) childhood that sweet, smart little girl deserves...
No, I'm not getting emotional over all the missed opportunities and all the ways TPTB let us down. I'm not. (😠😤😭)
Because I've already got a permanent residence permit of Lizzington AUs Dreamland where this cute happy little family actually stays together no matter what and where the only angst there is is an angst with happy ending:
Ok, now I'm sad again. Stupid. Stupid. Show.
Oh, no, don't be sad! I didn't mean to make you sad!
After all, the show wasn't stupid for the first... two and a half seasons. And the 3A? It was simply brilliant!)
And then, there were other good moments sprinkled here and there, like when Liz called Red's expensive and elaborate con "cool":
And Red's gaze slipped:
And the pumpkin talk (and Lizzy's face during it, especially in the moment captured in the last gif):
And the moment from the gif I posted above, with smiling Lizzy (also, Lizzy making Red spit his coffee out – one can never forget it).
And the "I'll count to ten" moment from 7x15 which is very dear to me for some reason.
All in all, the writers just somehow lost the direction they were supposed to be going in – which was clearly Lizzington and a confirmed Agnesgate – and proceeded to stumble around in the dark, not quite finding it but bumping into it at irregular intervals...)
Grayson Blaise is in my top 5 favorite episodes. I’m rewatching the episode where Liz stews a guy tonight.
I’m just sad that this show had so much potential and now it’s all gone, but somehow I’m still comforted by old episodes.
