Almost one year ago Brian and I took a big ole risk and flew out to Salt Lake City to buy this babe. A 1977 Toyota Chinook. We didnāt know how drive stick. It was mid-December and temps averaged around 12 degrees. But we did it. We bought her, spent three weeks driving around Utah and Arizona to actually learn how to drive, and drove her home. Almost 3,000 miles in total! ā ā Since then weāve learned every single thing about her. New motor. New carburetor. Brakes, calipers, rotors, fuel pump, gaskets galore, batteries, every thing you can think of, not to mention the entire camper interior we built ourselves! Sheās never been to a mechanic (except for a single electrical problem we couldnāt figured out). A never ending project. A constant source of frustration. But we love her. #toyotachinook (at Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpkX9kUDXqf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ecfsf2movgu3
