coach jess is leaving. probably because she's been blocked from advancing beyond a development coach role here, imo. assistant coaches move to get promotions a lot (like lambert, in fact...)

seeing the misogynists rejoice and blame her for everything is making me a bit sick. also, a lot of what they're on about had nothing to do with her, so they're ignorant about the team in addition to hating women. figures.

then there's the benevolent sexism of people theorizing that she'll be a pwhl head coach after the statement explicitly said that she's exploring other nhl opportunities. 🙄

anyway, her skill as a coach will be sorely missed. matty especially is a much better skater than he was before she got here.

This was a really hard season for me to focus on for multiple reasons. Missed a lot of games. But I always do enjoy watching the Kraken & participating in the lb when I can, whether that's just scrolling, liking/reblogging, or posting. Also I'm thrilled the lb has grown so much, from the early days where I used to be scared to post too much because there was barely anyone here to the point where I barely need to say anything because it's fun just to reblog all the great posts everyone else is making. I'm so glad krakenblr is a lively, positive space!!!

Anyway: "What is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger." Let's Go (Next Year), Kraken!!!!

if we were still in playoff contention i would not feel like this but as it stands the end of this season is extremely funny. we had three goalies but somehow none of them are able to play so we've put babies in the net. we seem to be collecting players with almost identical names to torture our broadcasters. people started fire ron chants and then ron fired himself. melanson dropped gloves the second he got out of the box after getting in trouble for trying to fight a huge guy (and then got put in ahl time out). our last game of the season is against the best team in the league. we are playing clown hockey!
