Thirteen Things You Need to Know About Hotel

1. The Countess might drink blood, but Ryan Murphy doesn’t want her labelled as a bloodsucker. She’s actually got an ancient blood virus, and uses her deadly chainmail glove rather than her teeth to kill her prey.

2. Apparently The Countess and her lover Donovan (Matt Bomer) have a foursome with another couple, but then she ends up slashing the pair’s throats and feasting on their blood. Delightful. Bomer gets his chance to do some killing two, wearing a dangerous black glove of his own to ‘stab’ and ‘feed’ on their victims. Sexy.

3. The Countess not only counts Donovan as her lover, but also newly turned male model Tristan (Finn Wittrock).

4. Ryan Murphy said of the singer: ‘She’s the only actress I think I’ve worked with who wanted to do more explicit stuff than was written. You write a foursome for her and you expect a lot of questions. She never did that. She showed up and she was wearing diamond pasties, a Band-Aid on her hoo-ha, heels, and a black veil that Alexander McQueen made for her on the day before his death. Then the crew gasped in delight and we were off!’

5. The maze-like building was built in 1930 by the charmingly psychotic James March (Evan Peters) as a front for his murderous activities. We’re guessing it’ll make the Overlook Hotel look more like Butlins.

7. Supermodel Naomi Campbell follows her Empire success with a turn in AHS as Claudia, a Vogue editor, who immediately regrets checking into Hotel Cortez. Should have stayed at Chateau Marmont babes.

8. Apparently one episode of the new series will return to the season one lodgings of the Harmon family, and their estate agent Marcy (Christine Estabrook) turns up in Hotel to show around fashion designer Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson) around the deadly place.
