Goals for the Month of May
This is very exciting for me, as I’m really truly hoping to slash my drinking and keep to my keto goals. (something i was very successful with in April, except for the regular wine binges.) I have scheduled 4 nights in May that I’m allowing myself to drink (Ben’s birthday, a wedding, etc.) and I’m leaving one floating date-so hopefully only FIVE NIGHTS IN MAY. This is big for me and I’m hoping to succeed. I’m a big drinker.
FOUR WEEKS TIL MY FIRST WEIGHT LOSS GOAL AND I’M GETTIN HELLA SERIOUS NOW.
I spent a lot of April figuring out what worked for me in terms of food, so (at least for week 1) I want to stick to a pretty rigid meal plan based on what has worked. I’m thinking:
Breakfast: 2 eggs with 1 tsp sesame oil (184 cal, 0.8 carbs)
Lunch: 1 can of tuna with 1 tbs mayo (210 cal, 0 carbs)
Dinner: Large serving of sesame zoodles (382 cal, 7.9 carbs)
Snacks: 3 pieces bacon (130 cal, 0.3 carb) 1 tbs peanut butter (100 cal, 2 carbs) broth (15 cal 1 carb)
TOTALS: 1,006 calories 12 carbs
With some degree of fluctuation based on how my body responds. This leaves me about 100-200 calories to play with which is good. I also want to only drink one cup of coffee a day, if possible. I’m a 3-4 cup black coffee girl, and it can’t be great for my already frazzled nerves.
I have an unused month of hot yoga classes, and I want to start going 2 times a week. I’m running a half marathon on the 7th, and want to up my running distances generally. Maybe try to run 13 miles straight more than once in May. My neighborhood’s very street-harrassey so I don’t love running or walking outside in workout gear, but maybe taking the train to central park and running for 1-2 hours would be a cool Saturday tradition.
I really love my gym, and now that I don’t have school (!!!) I have the luxury of being there when few others are. I’d like to formally try doing workout splits, and recording my strength so I’m not just stagnating over time with the same exercises and same weights. Designing an alternating push/pull thing.
Monday: Chest, shoulders, triceps. (+long run)
Tuesday: Back, biceps, abs. (+long run)
Wednesday: LEG DAY (+HIIT)
Thursday: Chest, shoulders, triceps. (+hot yoga)
Friday: Back, biceps, abs.
Saturday: Legs, abs. (+long run)
Sunday: hot yoga or long run
I’m also keen on drinking enough water-something that I don’t do and have never recorded. I hate spending money but am ready to invest in a big-ass portable water bottle if only to visualize exactly how much I should be getting, and how much I am getting. Something else I’d like to invest in is better workout clothes, a stopper for the bathtub so I can take luxurious baths, and maybe eventually a keto breathalyzer.
As this indicates, I intend to murder the month of May with consistency, sobriety, and being hella-motherfuckin’ active. I will try to do this perfectly for at least a week, and adjust as my body tells me. I’m in that exciting purgatory stage of life where I’ve just finished school and I don’t have a job yet-so I will never have this much free time again. I’m gonna use it wisely. No scales, just progress pics and measuring tape. Seriously.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner from today :)
