“what kind of person would i be if i didn’t stargaze?” casey chirped as she dropped her backpack and nestled the empty spot beside him. she used to go on late night hiking adventures with her big brother. the night sky littered with their natural sparkling lights was truly a sight to see. unfortunately, with him attending an out of state college, their trips became less frequent until they ceased to exist. “what about you? what’s your favorite spot for stargazing?”
Tate’s lips quirked into a small grin at her retort. “I dunno. I don’t really have a spot. Just do it sometimes when I feel like it. Why, do you have one?”
“all the time. at least, when i remember to look up,” she shrugged, pulling her sweater a little closer to herself as the brisk chill of the evening caressed lightly at her skin. she’d been passing through the park after a shift from work, uniform basking in the glow of the moon. “it’d be nicer, though, if the sky weren’t polluted with so many lights like they are in some places.”
He hummed, mulling the thought over. “I guess you have a point. Pollution blows.” Sitting up, Tate looked at the girl. He recognized the uniform and tried to place a name to the face, which was harder than he thought. “Had work again? Are you always working?”
Tate stared up at the sky from his spot in the grass. He’d come to the park about an hour or two earlier to go for a run, collapsing onto the grass when he was finished and lacking the motivation to get up again. Besides, the sky was beautiful, especially once the stars appeared. “Ever gone stargazing?” he asked the person he’d seen out of the corner of his eye.

Hello, new friends and old! Well, at least a couple of you I know from last time around. Anywho... I’m Ali, and this is my precious cupcake Tate!
-waves magic wand for read more to appear-
Ooooh. Ahhhh.
Sorry.
Okay, so Tate is a military brat! He’s been to a couple different countries, several states, and more schools than he’d like. Because of that, he doesn’t really like to get attached to anyone or anything. I suppose he might seem like it sometimes, but he puts up a front so he doesn’t come off as a loner. Hang on, I’ll do bullet points.
Honestly, Tate is such a sweetheart.
He’s a sports guy, and he loves some good, friendly rivalry.
Foreign languages and cultures are super interesting to him, but he doesn’t ever join any clubs. With sports, he can be replaced easily when he moves again. At least, that’s his reasoning.
He hates math. Possibly bc he’s not great at it, but he still thinks he’d hate it even if he were good.
Fear of water... well... drowning, actually. He’s cool with drinking water and like rain and stuff. He’s so glad his dad is not in the Navy.
Oh! That brings me to his dad. He’s a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. He’s been stationed all over, bringing his family with him unless he’s been deployed.
Tate has been in the Flagstaff area for about two and a half years, but he’s been living as if they’re about to move ever since.
If you wanna know anything more, I have an about page for him. I might be doing a wanted plots page, but I’m not sure. I’m big on going with the flow, so come talk to me!
every time
i planted my roots
i had to rip them out.
i do not settle any more.
i do not believe in homes.
i do not stay -
i go;
i leave;
i disappear.
i do not come back;
i arrive
never the same,
forever unsettled.
