Jaune watched the red blush spread across her cheeks, and she tried to hide the smile that pulled at the corners of her lips.
"I'd be delighted," she replied, holding out her own hand to accept. He lightly grasped her extended hand, helping her rise from her seat, and hand in hand, they made their way to the middle of the dance floor.
He placed a hand on her waist, holding her close as they swayed along to the gentle sounds of the string quartet as they played a slow waltz that floated through the air, out of the massive tent and deep into the night sky.
He smiled down at her warmly, admiring the crystal blue eyes that twinkled brightly in lamplight. Her long silvery white hair was pinned behind one ear, clasped in place with a singular yellow flower. She was radiant in the bright white dress that flowed out over curves, and in that moment, nothing else mattered but them and the love they shared with each other. All eyes in the room were on them, and he had to admit that the road to this moment had been long, tricky, and at points felt almost impossible to pass. Yet, here they were, wrapped up in each other with the rest of their lives to look forward to.
"I love you, Mrs Arc-Schnee," he whispered.
"And I love you, Mr Arc-Schnee" she whispered back. "Though you don't have to keep calling me beautiful."
"Nope, it's in the contract now," he said, wiggling the fingers on his left hand, the gold and silver band glinting as it moved. "I get to call you beautiful every day for the rest of your life."
"Dolt," she scoffed lightly before he captured her lips with his own. The music shifted into a more upbeat number, and their friends piled onto the dancefloor around them, laughing and smiling with them as they celebrated their union. Their night, much like their future, was just getting started.
