hey! so the quarantine one I started in april makes me mad bc I don't like it and don't know how to fix it, so we'll see what happens to that, it's just sitting on my computer, crying for help. I can relate. I did post a different quarantine one that you can find here if you haven't seen it. but if there's anything you'd like me to write (no smut pls) lmk and I'll give it a go. the more specific you are, the better. I would never like it enough to finish if you just say tay and joe with his family.

She had accepted, a long time ago, that she would end up alone, maybe have a few long term relationships, but nothing worth sticking around for, not a forever, so when Joe first brought up the subject of marriage, of life together, a forever, a year into their relationship, she freaked out, to put it lightly.
She created a huge fight, whether to prove herself right, to test him, or to prove herself wrong she didnât know, but he stayed, and he apologized. He came to her, and he hugged her, and he told her he loved her and that heâs sorry for upsetting her if she felt like talking about marriage at this point was taking it too fast. And then, she just knew.
She never had a guy apologize to her, even when one was due. But then again she also never had a guy care about her as much as he did. He loved her, not for the fame, or the money, or her body. He loved her mind, he loved her personality, he loved who she was in private when she allowed herself to be vulnerable and remove the persona everyone knew.
He saw Taylor, the 26-year-old who loved cats and all things glitter, the one who would mumble stuff into her phone at all hours of the day, whose mom was her best friend and always spoke her mind. The person that loved so deeply she often got hurt.
He saw her flaws and loved her for them, not in spite of them.
And she loved him just the same. She loved how ordinary his life was, how he went to university, and had school friends and never gave a second thought to walking down the street to the grocery store. She loved how his mom suggested they take a walk around the park when they first met because there was still time until dinner, not even realizing that such a thing wasnât possible to Taylor. She loved his brothers and the relationship he had with them. She loved how caring he was and how selfless and kind he is. She loved everything about him. Even things that she always found agitated her with past boyfriends, she didnât care about them when it was him. Like how he would sometimes speak before swallowing his food, or how he would kiss her in the middle of her sentence, telling her that it was just because, she loved how he sometimes disagreed with her. But he always listened to her, she never had to worry about that, she never had to worry if he loved her, or if he was truthful, because he always was, almost to a fault.
So yeah, maybe she should have seen this coming, but a year in, she didnât know how things are supposed to be at this point. She only ever got here once previously and she knew for a fact it wasnât a good reference point, especially with how many times Joe proved her wrong up until now. How he stayed when she tried to break it off when the paparazzi found out about them, how he accepted her with all her baggage, how he never doubted in his mind about her.
She was worried that they were going too fast, but then again, things have never felt more right than when she was with him. So a year in they were talking about marriage, and kids, and life together, and they moved in together. And he was everything she wanted and everything she didnât know she needed. He was gentle where she was rough, he was quiet where she was loud, he was the complete opposite to her, in a way, but he was also so similar to her.
And then, one day, three years in, she looked over at him and realized she was looking at her forever, and it terrified her. The thought of forever. The weight of it and its meaning. Forever meant accepting that maybe she was wrong, maybe she did deserve to be happy, maybe there was someone out there for her, and he wasnât just out there, he was right here, lying next to her on the couch watching a movie with their cat on his stomach and his legs tangled with hers, only wearing his boxers looking so soft in the soft light coming in from the hallway.
And she realized that inviting forever into her life also meant letting in pain, and loss, and death. Because forever means till death do us part. It means growing old together and seeing the effect of old age on the person she loved most. It means losing someone you love. It could be tomorrow, it could be at 80. And that realization terrified her.
But this time, she didnât try to run. She talked to him until the middle of the night, until they were so tired their eyes hurt. She shared her fears and her worries, and he shared them too. And they held each other and calmed each other down and kissed each other and soothed the worries. Because she may not know what tomorrow holds, but she knows that with him she can weather the storm.
So when he proposed, three and a half years in, right when a pandemic was starting to affect them, she guessed she shouldn't have been surprised, because, in a way, it was always coming. It was always a question of when, with him, not if. It was always when is he proposing, when are you getting married, when are you having kids. No one ever asked them if they thought they would get there, because it was a given they would, they were always asked when. And she liked it, she liked how the people around him could see how amazing he was to her, how he was it.
He was there, on one knee, with pizza boxes around him, on a blanket, in the middle of their living room, having an impromptu picnic at home because thereâs a shelter-at-home order. His hand was shaking a little, and he had tears in his eyes, and he was telling her how much he loves her and how much she means to him. How he canât imagine life without her in it. And it wasnât how he wanted to do it, he said, he had this thing planned, he was going to have her family nearby so they could celebrate, and he was going to set up this nice date for her, somewhere private, just the two of them. And she was laughing, and she had tears in her eyes, and she loved him, so much, because she knew, even though this wasnât what he planned, it was better than what she could have hoped for. So she bent down, didnât even let him ask it, and kissed him.
And then he whispered the most beautiful set of words he could have ever uttered, âWill you marry me?â
She doesn't remember saying yes, but she guesses she did because he was sliding the most beautiful ring she has ever seen onto her finger, and he was kissing her, and he showed her how much he loved her, over and over again, all night long.
And she was happy. In the midst of all the chaos and uncertainty that surrounded them, something that only three years ago would render her an anxious mess, unable to function, she was the happiest she has ever been.
And then, the next day, the realization hit her. And the anxiety. That everything they talked about, the future and the kids and the forever, it wasnât just some hypothetical, something that they would make happen one day. That one day was here, and she had the ring to prove it.
She didn't realize how deep she had gotten herself, and it scared her. The thought that without noticing she was willing to give him everything. She was willing to work through her fears and insecurities in order to have a child with him. When did that happen? When did he change her mind about what she thought her future held? When did she start thinking about forever with someone else? When did he get her to see that she could have more?
And he came up behind her, not even noticing the panic on her face, simply thinking the silence was from concentrating on the lyrics she had in front of her, and he wrapped his arms around her from behind, and he kissed her temple and whispered âI love youâ into her ear, and just like that she was okay. She was still scared, terrified even, but she knew she would be okay with him by her side.
And now here she was, a month short of being 4 years together, with a ring on her finger, planning a wedding with the love of her life, her 8th album, one she wasnât planning on putting out for a long time but somehow it came about in those few months of quarantine, is out and doing better than she could have dreamed. Here she is with the most cliche thing that can happen to her in lock down. Fucking pregnant.
These last few months they have been a little careless with protection, knowing that kids were something they both wanted. They walked about it, of course, and decided that if it happened, then it happened. And now it did. And sheâs terrified. She guesses she shouldn't be surprised, she did miss her period last month, she was feeling constantly nauseous and was a little on the emotional side, even for her.
Life was amazing, in an unexpected, messy kind of way. The kind of way where you're both terrified and excited for tomorrow. Where you both love where your future is heading but also want to fix so much.
And now, looking back on it, the direction her life took these last 4 years shouldnât have surprised her. She now has a private life, with the love of her life, she's happy, for the first time in her life planning the way the next two years are going to look for her isn't anxiety-inducing, it excites her, it makes her anxious to reach there. It makes her want it to be here already.
Because she would weather all the storms in the world if it means she gets to end the day with his arms wrapped around her, his love surrounding her, and their child, now growing inside her, growing up right in front of her eyes.

heya! so i havenât posted anything here in a while, but i have two things iâm currently working on, one is like this small little thing about tay and joe in quarentine (probably going to end up around the 1-2k words, pretty small for my rambling ass), and the other is a request that i decided to combine with paper rings thing. which one would you be interested that i finish first?
Today was the day, the one the couple has been waiting for, for almost a year now. He proposed a little before Christmas, he made dinner for her while she was out in meetings, in the middle of a stressful week. She came back to quite music playing in the background, the smell of her favorite dish he makes in the air and him dressed in his usual cloths. It wasnât a normal occurrence, but still nothing unusual for him to do in the middle of a hectic week for her to be taken care of and relax.
He got down on one knee after they finished eating and asked her to marry him. It wasnât perfect in any way, he kept stumbling on his words and forgot what he wanted to say, and he managed to forget where he hid the ring in the pantry so that it was nearby when it was time, and he somehow put the ring on the wrong finger with how much his hand was shaking with excitement. But she said yes, and she said that she loves him. And she said yes. And that was all that mattered.
After he proposed, they celebrated Christmas and their engagement in a small lodge in Ireland with their families. It was everything they could ever dream of.
But today is the day. She already walked down isle, they already said their vows, and they already said, âI doâ but the night havenât even started yet.
Now it was time for their first dance. He fought with her for weeks for the song to be one of hers, one he knew she wrote with this day in mind, but she fought him just as hard for it to not be. They ended up settling for a song that was just as important to them, âPerfectâ by Ed.
They dubbed the song as theirs when he kept taking her hand whenever the song started playing saying that this song was written specifically for that moment, whatever it may have been at the time, and therefor she needed to dance with him. At first, she would object him, as it wasnât always the right time to dance, but she quickly learned that it was futile and that he would always get his way in the end.
âLadies and Gentlemen, I would like to call out the newlywed couple, Mr. and Mrs. Alwyn, for their first dance,â they heard the DJ call into the microphone.
âAre you ready, wife?â Joe asked as he stood up and offered his hand to his wife.
His wife. He couldnât believe he gets to call her that.
âAs ready as Iâll ever be, husbandâ Taylor says with a smile and takes his hand as she gets up.
They walked to the dance floor and Joe pulled Taylor in, holding her close with her chin on his shoulder as they swayed to the song as it played over the speakers.
âI canât believe this. Weâre married, weâre really, actually married. This isnât a dream.â Taylor whispered quietly in his ear âThis is the best day of my lifeâ
âI love you so much, I donât think I could ever love you as much as I do right nowâ Joe whispered in her ear.
After that, they continued swaying quietly until the song ended and changed to a more upbeat song as everyone came to congratulate them.
âNo, no, no. Just a little longerâ Joe whispered when Taylor went to pull away from him.
The moment was short lived, though, as their friends and family came to them to congratulate the couple.
A little while later, everyone had eaten, and it was time to make the toast. The first speech was given by Abigail, Taylorâs maid of honor, followed by Joeâs older brother, Tom, who was his best man. After that, came Taylorâs younger brother, Austin, and Patrick, Joeâs younger brother, who gave a speech that had everyone crying from laughter and the couple turning red from embarrassment. Then, it was time for their parents, who cried while wishing their kids the best marriage they could have and reminiscing on their relationship. Once their parents finished, Taylor got up and grabbed the mic.
âHi everyone. First of all, I would like to thank all of you for coming here today to celebrate with us. This is truly one of the best days of my life and Iâm glad to have everyone we love here for us.
"Um, so this time around I couldnât really practice on Joe so letâs hope I donât forget anything.
"These last four years have truly been the best, most wonderful, adventurous, crazy, weird, difficult, most rewarding years of my life. If anyone ever told me when I first me Joe that we would end up here, I never would have believed them, I would have thought you were crazy, but here we are.
"So I know youâre expecting this to be a really sweet speech about Joe and how much I love him, which I do, so remember that honey, because now that Iâm officially your wife, itâs my duty to embarrass you to the best of my ability. So, buckle up, people. Weâre gonna have some fun at Joeâs expense.â There was a quiet chuckle herd throughout the room as Taylor looked at her husband and smirked at him
âSo, whatâs it like living with Joe, you wonder? Imagine having a five-year-old child running around you all day, while having the most intellectual yet somehow still absolutely idiotic conversations with you. Like, for example, the other day we had a two-hour conversation on why our two older cats, Meredith and Olivia, like to torment Benjamin, our youngest cat. He reached the conclusion that because he is the youngest sibling, they have to pick on him. I did say that it took two hours, right?
"But itâs also fun, in a way, that he acts like that. Because I get to build forts in our living room for no other reason that the fact that theyâre fun, and thereâs always, without a fault, at least one box of chocolate chip cookies wherever he is. I get to have Christmas lights up until January because theyâre fun and pretty and why do we have to take them down after we worked so hard to put them up. Iâm pretty sure we still havenât taken down all of our Christmas decorations from the last one. Itâs September, you guys. We might as well just leave them where they are. But itâs our house, we make the rules, right?
"I also get stupid, sometimes inappropriate, jokes sent or told to me at all hours of the day, just for the heck of it. I got one this morning while we were getting ready at two different places. No, but really, itâs our wedding day and all he can think about is how to get this stupid knock, knock joke to me while heâs at home and Iâm at my parentsâ. How he managed to get ready on time is a mystery to us all.
"I also get date night at our neighborhood park on the swings, or at laser tag, or just any childish activity I just have to go to with him. But it isnât childish to us, itâs fun, itâs making memories and doing something silly together just for the sake of not being serious adults all the time.
"But donât get me wrong, having someone like that in my life, having Joe in my life, changed it in best way possible. I get to spend the rest of my life not just with the person I love most, but I get to be with my best friend, the man I know would have my back through thick and thin, ups and downs, whatever may be thrown our way, I know Iâm gonna have this magnetic force of a man next to me for the rest of my life, because thatâs what heâs been doing all this time.
"Um, so babe, I love you so much, I donât even have the words to describe how much. And I have a little anecdote for everyone and a surprise for Joe before I finish. Deciding on a song to dance to was a task. Joe wanted it to be one of my songs that I wrote for my last album, but as much as I love him, thereâs a line to everything that was it. So instead, I thought Iâll play it for you, babe. So, a little introduction, I wrote this song a like a few months before joe proposed, with the first lines that came to mind making the bridge, that kinda sound like your traditional wedding vows, but with my own little twist, something I wanted to promise him. So, I wrote the song Lover for him, and put it out last year, and as much as he insisted for it to be the song we danced to, I had other plans for it. So⊠without farther a due, Iâm gonna go get my guitar, just a second.â With that, Taylor ran down the three steps of the stage to get her guitar from her mom and went up to the mic.
âOkay, I donât think Iâve ever been this nervous to play this song, but here goes.â

There was a laugh in the room from the guests when she sang those first few lines, knowing she said them earlier on purpose.

Everyone in the room clapped when she finished, and Joe ran up the couple of stairs. He grabbed her cheeks in his hands and pulled her into him, kissing her deeply as everyone hollered at them.
âI love you, womanâ Joe whispered against her lips and kissed her once again.
Eventually, Taylor pulled away from his kiss and laughed at everyoneâs reaction to them.
âSo I guess now is my turn?â Joe asked into the mic âI knew I should have gone first. My wife has a way with words.â
