my experience shooting for an overseas agency.

Sports is in the air with olympics on the horizon, I'm not as fortunate as to be able to shoot the olympics just yet buuut today i spent the day at the Jamaica national stadium shooting track and field events. It was overcast thank God so I didn't have to worry about being slow cooked like when i was there the day before.

I'm not that huge of a sports fan but I've gotta admit there were two excellent races ran today. The most exciting races were actually from the under 9 category a photo of two should be in tomorrows paper from those particular races i'm sure.

On leaving i saw a pretty cool photo that would make an excellent landscape shot but i only had my 70-200 on me as i was shooting races. a 12-24 would have sold that photo. did something with my cell though..

On getting to the company car I drove up (middle car) i kinda found it cool that all the media cars were parked at the same spot. No observer though.. guess they were too busy with other things to show up hehe.

Via Flickr: a few weeks ago I had to cover horse racing as my weekend assignment for the paper. its hot.... n muddy because they wet the track every second... its a cool place to be if you like horses though i guess. word to shooters. always watch out for a horse running on the outside rail..

I spent last week in Portland on an engagement photoshoot with a couple who's wedding I'll be shooting in August. The first location was somerset falls. It had lots of potential there were 3 different waterfalls to work with which was kinda cool & I didn't have to get my gear wet either. Did a iPhone snapshot to share. :)

meye I Spiez the potting plant pruner. Via Flickr: I was speeding back from my first assignment this morning to pick up a reporter for my next human interest assignment. stop light. I look up and saw this lady pruning her plant. and she was so focused and into it. think she was talking to it. I made a quick composition before the light changed. thought I'd share

her name slips me at the moment but I know she's a pulse model. this assignment was done leading up to bacchanal that just recently happened. here we were showing off her make up and the head wear (everything shoulder down was not a part of the final image). this was a candid i took of her prior to beginning the shoot.

The last photo that I used to describe the setup was boring couldn't help my self... I call it, "bracket ballhead sandwich"

Testing out a setup for the softliter. It's not the usual mounting setup but I prefer this way. Using the ball head gives me quicker flexibility in terms of the angles I can set the modifier to. Also it gives me a bit more height :) so it's a light stand with an umbrella adapter with a ball head with another umbrella adapter on top of that. Try it out. Lemme know what you think.

This is an out take from the Stella Maris dance ensemble dance presentation last week Sunday at little theater St Andrew , Jamaica. I really liked the photo but threw it out because I clipped the dancer on the right. We're he in the frame it would have been a keeper. The feeling conveyed in the photo is top notch though. energy, concentration, fluidity, motion , form , chaos
