I don’t come here often but last weekend I was lucky enough to go to my first ever dome concert for Tohoshinki's ZONE Live Tour! 🥰 I got to meet so many new friends and exchange cute gifts! I hope we can all meet again soon! WE ARE T!!! 🎈

TVXQ for Bigeast Staff Report Pictures 03/25

it's tuesday night on 2/18 (HBD CHANGMIN) on my side of the world and now i finally have the time to sit down to write a fan account of my experience sitting/standing IN A FUCKING P SEAT for TOHOSHINKI's 20th Anniversary Live Tour ZONE in sendai (miyagi). I AM FUCKING SPEECHLESS - FANACCOUNT DONE, SIGNING OFF, BYE.

i went on both days (2/15 and 2/16), BOTH P SEATS, first day sitting on the left side (changmin's side lmfao) and second day sitting on the right side (yunho's side). i had a few taller people in front of me on the first day so i wasn't able to see the main stage completely well, but on the second day i was taller than everyone else AND SAW EVERYTHING PERFECTLY. THE ENTIRE STAGE, THEIR ENTIRE CHOREOGRAPHY. I AM SO LUCKY

first off, the boys were SO CLOSE to me, especially when they stood on the extended stage AND FOR BOTH DAYS THEIR CARTS ALMOST STOPPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AND I THINK I DIED FOR A BIT. i've been to their concerts before but i was never this fucking close, save me god. their skin was so perfect, i looooove changmin's sunny tan and his sweaty forehead and yunho was literally glowing and looked like a literal angel omfg

it's been a few days since the concert already, and i'm so mad that i wasn't able to record everything so i couldn't revisit it forever, but i'll try my best to remember as much as i can...

i went into the concert semi-blind about the setlist. i knew about some of the songs that they would perform (like songs from the ZONE album ofc) but still wanted to stay surprised. they opened the concert with TRHM which was perfect, THEN THEY PERFORMED ANDROID AND I FUCKING FLEW OUT OF MY SEAT. i haven't seen them perform that song in sooooo long. they wore beautiful white military-style outfits. they also performed dirt and i remember telling my friend that this was their omegaverse song and she gave me a LOOK (i take that meant she agreed).

i was very engrossed with the VCR storyline lmao, and it was definitely better than CLASSYC's. basically it's about a kid from the future who finds an old tape from the past. he gets sucked in and meets the avatars of tohoshinki, who asks him if he wants to visit their timeline, and of course the kid says yes. (IMPORTANT NOTE: THEY GAVE YUNHO A PONYTAIL)

yunho and changmin and the kid go hang out around tokyo skytree and it 100% looks like parents taking their kid out on a weekend lmao, and my friend jokingly called them daddyshinki (i'm proud to have recruited new members to our homin delulu circus).

i can't seem to remember the correct series of events (yikes) but i believe after this, it cut into the "jazz/rnb" portion of the concert where they sang songs like SURISURI, sweet surrender, down, and BUG. they wore gold outfits!

and then the VCR gets sad because the tohoshinki avatars start to malfunction and the kid is crying for his parents :( now we hit into the ballad portion of the concert: dearest, forever love, and stand by u. changmin did the fucking longest note for dearest and our super polite bigeasts didn't know if they should scream WHOOO or just applaud LMAO. they ended up doing both lol (a lot of bigeasts also cried when they sang dearest ): )

our boys sounded EVEN BETTER on the second night. flawless vocals. changmin's long notes for dearest and forever love seemed even longer and yunho omg, he was so stable and he sounded so good and clear while providing the harmony to changmin's melody. they wore beautiful pink outfits, and i got to see a peek of changmin's belly button and yunho's collar bone on the first night lol.

tHEN THE MENT pORTION. on the first night (2/15) they talked about valentine's day chocolates. they also joked about being nikoichi - "what are toho and BE?" (nikoichi) "what are yunho and changmin?" (nikoichi) "what are you and the person next to you?" (... nikoichi?) "wtf you don't even know that person" lol

then of course they asked about what song they should include for their tokyo dome setlist and one fan suggested doushite. the boys then did a beautiful acapella version of the song.

THEN ON THE SECOND DAY (2/16) the boys asked the same thing and the fans started to troll and chose very obscure B-sides LOL. for the first couple of songs homin didn't even try to sing them HAHA and then they ended up choosing a fanboy WHO FUCKING SAT BEHIND ME and he said TAXI... changmin had the LONGEST FUCKING PAUSE trying to remember the song... he finally sang a bit of it and it was beautiful :') ofc our wonderful yunho then made a statement of how tohoshinki have many great songs so it's hard to choose one.

(and ofc every night changmin would make a joke about how bigeast should stfu whenever he tries to move onto the next song because 37 year old oLD MAN CHANGMIN needs the concert to end so he can go home lmfao)

(also i love how they purposely choose fanboys for these things thinking they'd be putting them on the spot because they assume the dudes were just coming with their wives/sisters/mothers but they end up being TRUE fanboys hahaha. it gets them every time)

don't exactly remember what VCR came after this (i think tohoshinki avatars come back to life...?) but it was the cart portion of the concert AND THEIR CARTS STOPPED RIGHT BY ME AND I SAW THEM SO CLOSE IN ALL OF THEIR GLORIOUSNESS

after ark, they left to do a costume change and this was when they introduced the dancers, which was them dancing to a remix of a bunch of their fast songs. they were sooo good.

then toho came out with new outfits (yh: red jacket, cm: blue jacket) and did an explosive stage of on my radar. i loved the way how the dancers assembled under the extended stage as the stage moved up. they introduced the band while performing damn good which was such a brilliant way to do it.

after the band and damn good, they performed kyhd and i lost my mind. i honestly thought this was the last song before the encore, but they surprised me with love in the ice. they wore white fluffy tops AND THEIR HARMONY WAS SOOOO GOOD ESPECIALLY ON THE SECOND NIGHT.

and just when i thought love in the ice would be the last song THEY SURPRISED ME AGAIN WITH FUCKING CATCH ME AND THIS WAS WHEN I REALLY LOST MY MIND. THE OG CHOREO!!! THE FUCKING LIT UP OUTFITS!!! I FUCKING SCREAMED

they started the encore with mirotic, then went back on their carts AGAIN to perform share the world, shine, and this is my love. I ALMOST DIED AGAIN. FOR BOTH NIGHTS.

their last last song was the ballad from ZONE ("うまく言えずにごめんね")

their last ment was them introducing each song from ZONE. for 2/15 and 2/16 they talked about damn good and ARK respectively, both my favorite songs from their album <3

on the second night, i was waiting and wondering when they'd do changmin's birthday. even towards the end, after saying goodbye to fans in all corners of the stage, yunho didn't say anything and i really thought they wouldn't do it, until the VERY last minute, when it was about to really end and changmin started saying, "this has been tohoshinki" when yunho finally popped out with the cake. it was so cute because yunho sang "happy birthday chanmeen~" instead of "happy birthday to you~". it was a lot of changmins in one song hehe this qtpie

and ofc changmin's birthday wish was wishing that he'd be able to go to the next song smoothly without bigeasts complaining lmao

after the boys exit the stage, they showed behind-the-scenes footage of them preparing for the concert and then one last VCR to wrap up their story with their son lol

sorry i can't translate their ment because my japanese is extremely elementary ): i'll try my best to study more by the time i see them at tokyo dome in april!

i am so lucky to have experienced P seats for my first tohoshinki concert in japan. their japanese concerts are truly at another level and after many years of just watching them on DVD, i am happy that i finally got this bucket list item checked off. this was the best concert experience of my life and i hope to continue to support them and their concerts in any way i can in the future <3

Why Changmin and Yunho fit together...

Changmin and Yunho respect each other.

I’m putting this first for a reason. Respect is so important in a relationship. After going through a shitty relationship with a guy that pretended like he respected me but he really didn’t, I value this aspect more than anything.

It’s in the way Changmin looks at Yunho, or just general bias towards him. IMO it’s not just about Yunho being older or the leader (because Changmin definitely doesn’t hold back from teasing and picking on him publicly) but there’s an almost subtle reverence in his gaze and in the way he handles him…he can’t hide or fake it even in photoshoots. With Yunho, there is definitely a quiet adoration towards Changmin.

They value each other’s opinions too. Yunho has said how much he sees Changmin as his best friend and often goes only to him to talk about important matters because he listens very well. And he said this when they were five. So out of all the other members, he chooses Changmin. And I don’t blame him because to me it’s obvious when Changmin stands next him, he doesn’t just stand, there is a towering force of trust and support that is so endearing.

When Yunho does something that Changmin doesn’t approve of, they talk about it…and Yunho immediately tries to fix it by altering his behavior. Now, in a real relationship, you never want to go into it with a mindset of wanting to change that person…believe me, cuz that’s what I did and it was a big mistake. But when it comes down to it and Changmin was asked what he would change about Yunho, he said nothing. Despite the differences these two have, they are willing to work it out and adjust to each other – that signifies a deep rooted respect and affection.

Changmin and Yunho are opposites where it counts.

Now there’s an old time saying ‘opposites attract’ but honestly that depends on how opposite two people are. Yunho is a natural people person…he enjoys crowds, doesn’t like to be by himself. Changmin is more of an introvert, doesn’t enjoy crowds, and likes to be by himself. However, these are all superficial differences. 

What really matters is that they both share the same principles in life…they agree on the essential things. Arguing about where to squeeze the toothpaste or keeping the house clean are trivial matters and they work them out like any good married couple. lol.

Now, if they preferred different lifestyles and ideals, I wouldn’t think they fit. But just the fact that they continued living together makes it clear as day that they need each other and probably delight in their differences. It’s pretty boring to be with someone very similar to you. Put Changmin with another introvert and they won’t know how to talk to each other. Put Yunho with another talkative, outgoing person and they’ll probably overwhelm each other.

No, see, Changmin has just right amount of maturity and calmness to be very soothing for a person like Yunho. And Yunho has just the right amount of energy to keep Changmin on his toes and not bore him to tears. The maknae has admitted that living with leadersshii is like playing in a sitcom. I’d bet a lot of money that deep down Changmin loves living with him too much. ;)

Changmin and Yunho find each other attractive.

Okay, so I’m not trying to imply anything sexual here because I don’t know what goes on in their heads, but there is one thing for sure: they are not very good at outlandish fanservice. So when they admit something, it sounds very natural.

Like in the Mirotic era when an MC asked Changmin who he thought was most attractive member in that album (btw, they were playing a quick ask/answer game), Min immediately said Yunho. And then had a big grin on his face that said can’t believe I just said that but it’s the truth. That wasn’t the first time Changmin had praised Yunho’s looks…and we all know Min isn’t the type to praise a guy like that. Again, the Yunho-bias at work here.

Now, Yunho has also admitted to loving Changmin’s eyes (who doesn’t?!). And thinks his calm personality is most attractive (there’s the ‘opposites attract’ at work again). Yunho is easy though. You get him started on Changmin (or hell you don’t even have to do that he does it on his own), he won’t stop. He loves talking about him and praising him…hell, Min loves talking about and praising Yunho. They just love each other to bits! ^o^

Changmin and Yunho know each other’s faults but adore them anyway.

It’s important in a relationship to not believe the other person is absolutely perfect and can do no wrong. We’re all human and trying to maintain a healthy relationship is hard work even for a perfect match. 

On AADBSK3, Min’s answer the question what he dislikes about Yunho is how childish and innocent he can be about things. But then he goes and admits he thinks that side of him is very cute. (Yunho’s feathers fluffed up like a peacock at that compliment of course!)

Min also said recently that when Yunho wants to accomplish something he does it even though it puts a lot of pressure on him and it worries Min. But then he says he is so proud of Yunho when he does something. See, admiration and respect at it’s finest!

Now from all things he’s said, Yunho just flat out needs Changmin in his life. Doesn’t matter that Min likes to lock himself in his room, or not talk about his feelings (these have really been the only complaints he’s had about Minnie that I can recall). Changmin is like Yunho’s rock, he needs a person like him in his life to ground him.  

Finally, although he doesn’t say it as often, Changmin needs Yunho too. When they asked him if he enjoyed New York, Changmin said: “I could sing together with Yunho, I could dance together with Yunho, so I was happy.” 

When I see these two, I don’t see gender. What I see are two best friends who haven’t left each other’s side in 8 years even when they’ve seen the best and worst of each other. Changmin and Yunho continued to trust, support, and love one another through all the chaos and pressures in their life - that means their relationship is built on a strong foundation. This is the essence of why they fit together.

TVXQ is over on Korea

said and wished and predicted by media and also some agencies who wished TVXQ would be over back then when lawsuit happened so they could push forward their own groups as “the new TVXQ”, “the next big thing after TVXQ”, “leader of idols generation after TVXQ” and other headlines like that.

Then KYHD happened.

Then Nissan and Dome tour buzzes happened in Korea, be a new precedent as a sign of success in JP.

Then TVXQ managed to be in Top 10 dispatch trend boygroups in 2013 without releasing any new material in 2013.

Then they reached its 10th anniversary, even managed to hold two succesful concerts in Seoul.

Then Something won 4 awards in one straight week, topped Gaon chart, made certain agency feels so insecure they manipulated their boygroup album sales.

Damn. Why TVXQ isn’t over yet? lol

hi ichi, can you think of any other group where 60% of the group leaves, with the two main vocalists and the remainder of the members have carried on achieving amazing success, isnt tvxq unique that way? i really have a lot of respect for yunho and changmin to have carried on with courage

I can’t think of any… that’s why I said it’s duo TVXQ’s biggest selling point.

When it comes to Yunho and Changmin, because they hold the same principles like what I believe in and proved they can stay true to their principles, they’re no longer idols in a sense of people I admire (and envy) for their big dreams, determination, talents and hardwork.

They are my role models, people I aspire to be.

hello ichi is there any possibility that tohoshinki/tvxq will disband in near future?? are you believed that there will still be tvxq after their military service?? with a lot of new idol coming up don't you think it is possible for tvxq to disband?? will sm continued to invest in them??

No sane person wants to discard a thing with economic value.

I expect the group to still be active in its 15th anniversary.

Ehh i don't understand. I don't think Toho's playing safe bc every album sounds very experimental for me? Their color is dance + ballad, imo. I love their ballads from tone until with. Can u explain what's Toho color in ur opinion? Thanks!

If I have to find a word to describe Toho’s Tone album (the album that I keep praising to high heavens, album that in my observation, secures JP attention and faith back to the duo after horrendous split) is that it’s ‘colourful’.

It has so many different genres in one album, SMP, big ballad, medium tempo, fun jpop-ish tracks, electro, euro beat, but somehow they could blend well in one album.

I want the colourful Tohoshinki again because imo, it’s when they show us everything they could offer.

Something I don’t find in their latest albums. By playing safe is them picking songs they know fans will like (like Spinning & Sweat for dance tracks, With Love, Time works wonder & Chandelier for ballad tracks) but not picking stronger songs for filler.

Can you hum the melody of Calling track right away? Or Believe in You track? I doubt you can. But most fans I encounter able to remember the melody or singing catchy part of each song in Tone album. That’s how good the album is.

It’s just I expect the very best from artists Toho because I know they can.
