I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I have decided that the new blog WILL be fully up and running before the 8th if it’s the last thing I do because it’s Lulu’s birthday and I’m not gonna miss it due to inactivity like I did last year. I WILL be here and I WILL be loving her. Any questions?
Feelin’ cute. Might remake this whole blog when I’m ready to be more active.
as always, feel free to edit/alter to better fit!
“ every piece of me is made from what you did to me. ”
“ i couldn’t stop missing you if i tried. ”
“ death seems to follow me. ”
“ i can’t let go of this. ”
“ what if we tried again? ”
“ i don’t want to know what life is like without you. ”
“ you’re an impossible person to forget. ”
“ i didn’t think i’d see you again. ”
“ i don’t think i’m built for forever. ”
“ sometimes you break in places that can’t be fixed. ”
“ stay, just for tonight. ”
“ once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale. ”
“ her/his/their/your angel eyes see the good in many devils. ”
“ you can’t go back and change the beginning. ”
“ you can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. ”
“ every atom of me missed him/her/them/you. ”
“ destroy what destroys you. ”
“ your eyes stole all my words away. ”
“ you are someone too. ”
“ be kind, but don’t forget that you deserve kindness too. ”
“ we deserve a soft epilogue, my love. ”
“ darling, you are not at war. ”
“ darling, you are not at war with anyone but yourself. ”
“ i want kingdoms to tremble when they hear my name. ”
“ teach me how to be a monster. ”
“ some things have to end for better things to begin. ”
“ never feel guilty for starting again. ”
“ i’ll be there when your heart is ready. ”
“ if someone makes you feel, let them. ”
“ there is true magic in you. ”
“ choose people who choose you. ”
“ soulmates aren’t just lovers. ”
“ you drew memories in my mind i could never erase. ”
“ the person you loved was an illusion. ”
“ people leave you out in the cold and get mad when you learn how to get warm by yourself. ”
“ your name hurts. ”
“ grieving someone who still lives might be the worst pain. ”
“ you’re just a stranger with all my secrets. ”
“ i think we were meant to be, but we did it wrong. ”
“ how could you possibly let go of someone that felt like home? ”
“ a part of me still thinks that if i can find the right words, it will save us. ”
“ whatever we are, i still remember the way we were. ”
“ as long as you still love it, it will continue to break you. ”
“ you made it look so damned easy to leave me. ”
“ i still find pieces of you in me. ”
“ perhaps not forgetting you is the only forever we will ever have. ”
“ you and i will always be unfinished business. ”
“ hell exists. it’s here, 3am, awake and without you. ”
“ i regret the end, the way we couldn’t leave one another without wounds. the way we made it seem as if all the love we shared was just wasted time. ”
“ you can forgive yourself now. ”

’ i look like my mother and she looked like the enemy. ‘
’ i’ve never been welcomed here. ‘
‘ keep a pencil in your hand. or else someone will put a rifle in it instead. ‘
‘ i spent years thinking i’d find a way out. ‘
‘ i’m old enough to know the only way out, is through. ‘
‘ well, i need someone to take the fall for my petty crimes, that’s all. ‘
‘ we learned some good life lessons back then. ‘
‘ one: don’t cry in public. ‘
‘ she/he/they isn’t like you. no one is. ‘
‘ you’re the one of us who believes in a higher power. ‘
‘ when i get the nerves the night before i like to have a good tumble with a stranger. ‘
‘ you don’t seem like the type to do what they should. ‘
‘ well, turns out they do need me, so. ‘
‘ you’re a terrible shot. ‘
‘ when i was young, i had nightmares about it. ‘
‘ if it goes wrong, come back. you’ve lost enough already. ‘
‘ i’ll find my way back to you, promise. ‘
‘ don’t you want to know if you’re grisha? ‘
‘ if i can’t crack this, none of us are going anywhere. ‘
‘ maybe i won’t be here when you get back. ‘
‘ what are you? ‘
‘ that’s why i’m here, isn’t it? ‘
‘ they’re all gone. it’s my fault. ‘
‘ is it true? can you summon light? ‘
‘ when they realize their mistake, what do you think they’ll do to her/him/them? ‘
‘ i know her/him/them better than anyone does. ‘
‘ i don’t know where this letter will find you. but you must’nt worry about me. ‘
‘ i am perfectly capable of washing myself. ‘
‘ don’t change my eyes. ‘
‘ i’m almost as rare as you. ‘
‘ sentimental. we’ll work on that too. ‘
‘ i can’t go in front of the king, i need more time. ‘
‘ know that when i told you about true north, i was talking about you. ‘
‘ black is his color. not mine. ‘
‘ tell me, are you so anxious to be like everyone else? ‘
‘ it would be nice to know what the feels like, someday. ‘
‘ time for a heist. ‘
‘ you managed to win us over, didn’t you? ‘
‘ training is good. well, i think it’s going well. ‘
‘ where you are doesn’t matter nearly as much as who you’re with. ‘
‘ when there’s something you want, better to act without thinking than think without acting. ‘
‘ i’ve always wanted to travel the world. ‘
‘ i like seeing you this way, i want you to be careful. ‘
‘ you never compliment anyone to their face. ‘
‘ aren’t you supposed to be scouting our way out? ‘
‘ what do you think i’m doing? ‘
‘ i think you’re flirting with that stable hand. ‘
‘ tell me, what makes one carriage faster than the other? ‘
‘ the right answer is their is no right answer. ‘
‘ it’s the horse that makes the difference. ‘
‘ no human being should be as proud as you are right now. ‘
‘ you think that’s what it is? just a trick? ‘
‘ you don’t want to keep it in your pocket for too long. ‘
‘ i’m sorry that it took me this long to see you. ‘
‘ i prefer to travel alone. ‘
‘ i’m afraid we can’t let that happen. ‘
‘ you stick with us, everybody gets what they want. ‘
‘ i’m not being anyone’s captive ever again. ‘
‘ it was my power keeping you warm. ‘
‘ you won’t get far out here without it. ‘
‘ if i wanted you dead, i would have slowed your heart instead of speeding it up. ‘
‘ you intend to kill me! ‘
‘ why would you save me? ‘
‘ so there is a brain inside all that muscle. ‘
‘ you used to call on me, on times like this. ‘
‘ when your table was messy and your bed was neat. ‘
‘ i am a witch hunter and you are a witch. ‘
‘ you made him afraid. now he wants you to fear him. ‘
‘ you’re the one who taught me how to kill, mother/father. ‘
‘ i taught you so you could protect yourself. ‘
‘ we need to teach them how to fight. ‘
‘ i forbid it. now, do you hear me? ‘
‘ it’s dangerous to go looking for the dead. ‘
‘ what you see may haunt you for the rest of your days. ‘
‘ maybe. just maybe. greed is a poor motivator. ‘
‘ true wealth is the friends you make along the way. ‘
‘ i should just tear this down now. ‘
‘ i will go north in the night. ‘
‘ no. this can’t be it. i’m not done tormenting you. ‘
‘ i will keep you warm. ‘
‘ i can’t wait to introduce you to my truest love. ‘
‘ when i got older, i learned that darkness is a place and it’s full of monsters. ‘
‘ they aren’t the monsters. they’re just boys/girls. ‘
‘ we can’t hide forever. we can run together. ‘
‘ no businessman worth his salt bargains for what he can take. ‘
‘ our enemies are threatened by your mere existence. ‘
‘ never make decisions out of fear, only out of spite. ‘
‘ well greed always worked for me. ‘
‘ the bone road ebbs and and the bone road flows. ‘
‘ handsome decoy is also not a [NAME’S] talent. ‘
‘ i’d rather starve than be a traitor. ‘
‘ needing anyone is weak. ‘
‘ you and i are going to change the world. ‘
‘ so, who actually saw what happened? ‘
‘ it came from everywhere, because you called upon it to come. ‘
‘ i have been waiting a long time for you. ‘
‘ there are no others like us and there never will be. ‘
‘ not many people surprise me. ‘
‘ fine. make me your villain. ‘
‘ they are traitors who tried to kill you. this is retribution. ‘
‘ i’ve survived for centuries. did you really think you could kill me. ‘
‘ you are quite valuable, you know. ‘
‘ the deal is the deal. ‘
‘ i’m just trying to keep warm. you should join me. ‘
‘ i’ve been warned off the job. ‘
‘ i know that look. he’s a man consumed with vengeance. ‘
‘ please tell me you have a plan. ‘
‘ i’m not against the occasional light roleplay. ‘
‘ i’d miss me too. i’m fantastic. ‘
‘ no one is ever going to believe i’m that old. ‘
‘ why does this concern me? ‘
‘ well of course certain death pays a million. ‘
‘ unlike a spider, i only need one leg. ‘
This marble was loved enough to make mortals shiver when they brush the cold hands with their warm ones, hesitating an instant to call it alive and subject. •

❝ There are far more significant things to be concerned with. ❞ A low, low bitterness as deep as it could possibly go. His voice does him no favors, but it doesn’t need to. Nothing hid clear cut disdain and disinterest. Yet still comes a murmur, then a rumbling mumble, ❝ Frivolous and wasteful... ❞
|| * ikkaku-of-heart:
“Even if Gramps hadn’t been brutally honest, I would have called anyone who claimed you were perfect a damn liar,” Ikkaku said with a grin. She didn’t even claim Law was perfect. Well, ok, sometimes, but that was usually when she was in peek fangirl mode and only to other people. In private, she was brutally honest when she thought her captain was being a moron, and she assumed Whitebeard’s sons weren’t much different.
At least, she’d heard Marco scold him for not taking better care of his health, so clearly someone wasn’t afraid of reminding the great Edward Newgate he was human.
Pushing away from the railing, she took a seat near the base of the throne. The beeping of medical equipment reminded her of Law’s operatory, and she made a mental note to give the machines a good checking over later. Whitebeard’s days might be finite, but she refused to let the world lose him a second sooner than necessary if she could help it. Especially now that she’d finally ended up on his ship, just like Gramps had always said she would.
“Honestly, he really did want to settle down and enjoy a peaceful life,” she explained, thinking back on Tomasu’s post-smuggling career. “He told me that he’d been looking forward to finally enjoying the fruit of his labors and actually getting to spend his golden years with my grandma. But he only got two before she was taken away.” The Siren Plague that had driven nearly a fourth of the population of Joras to madness had claimed Arashi as well. Grief had claimed her grandfather for the next year, moonshine becoming his only real companion until the fateful night he’d rescued her from certain death. That had cleaned up his act quickly. Ikkaku had reminded him that his family hadn’t ended with his wife, and even with his now-grown granddaughter out at sea, she doubted he’d reverted to his old ways. Not when he had her letters to look forward to, along with articles about the Heart Pirates’ exploits in the paper.
She laughed at Whitebeard’s declaration that he would haunt Joras. That island had plenty of ghosts, but she’d probably have welcomed his. Might put the others in their place. “Gramps always wanted me to get off that rock. Made it clear if I didn’t run off to become a pirate or sailor or something, he would have thrown me in the lobster boat and dumped me on your ship himself!”
Wouldn’t that have been a sight to see? A small little lobster boat boldly sailing up to the Moby Dick, a grizzled old man yelling up at the deck for Whitebeard to show his face and make good on his promise. Ikkaku had no doubt that the World’s Strongest Man would laugh at his audacity and invite him up for a drink.
Eyes twinkling with mischief, Ikkaku asked, “Did you ever try any of Gramps’ moonshine? Potent stuff. I brew some once in a while, but Law doesn’t really let us drink it; we use it for emergency fuel sometimes or to sterilize wounds.”
What easy tales they were to believe, those of grandeur and fancy. Word and reputation were spread throughout the world in a raging torrent. No wave of change was ever subtle, and it was but one of many things that made this life of piracy even more enticing. He shook the world. In youth, in mere passing, there were whispers and stray tall tales. But the most mundane person could leave a lasting impression behind. It took but a word, an action, the smallest bit of hope and determination, to bring a tide of change. Even if the world painted him exemplary, everyone was capable of being the same. Truly, Edward would always stand by his mortality. ❝ Perfection doesn’t exist, ❞ stated simply, quickly shifting from blunt to cheeky, ❝ but if it did, my family would be as close as it gets. I’m sure as hell not an example. ❞
Age gripped his skin, his bones; every second was another closer to the end of an era and the beginning of another. For a moment the feeling of tubes within nostrils becomes more noticeable. Funny, he so often tore them out when it became apparent. But no such instinct comes today. There is enough comfort in nostalgia to stem the sensation. As much as one accepted the inevitable end, there were far too many things left to assure and make certain of to let death take him now.
❝ It’s never that simple. ❞ A sadness in a solemn voice. To settle was a dream few rapscallions could ever see through. The government’s fist was one of iron, unrelenting and insistent. Where they did not hound perceived injustice, biting at heels until one caved, harsh realities and dangers laid claim to them. Even the purest heart did not escape such cruelty. ❝ Life gives as much as it takes. We’re always vying for the simplest of things. Hard as a man tries, there are some things we can’t avoid. ❞ Disaster and death were but the beginning of things far worse. ❝ After everything he did, upright or deplorable, he didn’t deserve it. I can only imagine his lament. ❞
And for the moment, he does ─ and he feels it as deeply as he did the loss of his own. But it ends with a spark of optimism, laughter in commemoration of something better. Sorrow only filled out the hollow space that was not consumed by bellowing happiness. It is why his laugh reverberates and rumbles, shakes the whole deck and more. There were far too many grand things in this world to dwell on the worst of them. Joy was always overflowing somewhere. With his influence, her enthusiasm, their history, he would make this that place.
❝ It’s been a long time. ❞ In parts feigned obliviousness and genuine, fingers scratching against his jawline as if reaching to the depths of thoughts to pluck out a memory. ❝ Can’t say I remember if I did. Even so, I’ve surely forgotten the taste. ❞ An underlying eagerness makes itself known in a smile, matching her mischievousness. There was no alcohol ( or blatant danger, for that matter ), that the “Strongest Man in the World” could ever refuse. ❝ Why don’t you jog my memory while you’re here? If it’s as good as I think his was, I might not tell your Captain you shared it with me. ❞
|| * keypr:
Ever the .. optimist Jinji loads himself with enough supplies that it’s maybe just a little bit hard to see over the crates and boxes. Thinking it would be fine ( and he absolutely refused to make two trips. ) The walk from his current home to the pier was too long and this was a project he was far too excited to start working on, it just made sense to him. He should have known better. He figures this is what his sister meant when she called him an idiot. A little too ambitious for his own good…
It’s no fault but his own that he tumbles into a few little ones, the excitable shouting of children meet his ears when his own shuffling feet fail to keep himself up. It’s not as bad as it could have been but his things do get knocked around and he ends up on his behind, a surprised noise dropping from him as he hits the ground. By the time he gets his bearings, dusting off his knees, there is a hand being offered to him by, in his opinion, an interesting looking person. The change in posture and features is subtle, tanned cheeks darken in color and heavy brows raise just a little.
His hands are worn from his years in the shipyard and then even more on the sea. It’s not something he thinks about until there’s a hand in front of him, offering him help up. It’s a brief second, just a small thought until he’s on his feet and rubbing a hand over the back of his neck, gratitude already on his tongue. “Thanks! Usually I’m better at looking where I’m goin’ but I guess I just wasn’t payin’ attention this time.” He turns to his things and begins stacking, offering a smile the other’s way as he hefts it all on his shoulder. “They didn’t get you did they?”
There was many a peculiar thing in this life; one filled with those bearing intriguing qualities and those that flocked to them. It was not out of the ordinary that they garnered such attention, especially from those still sheltered from the hate of the world. Eden hears not their audible surprise, but feels the horde of footsteps against the ground, stopping still for a time and leaving when their attention quickly falters. Even when they sought to remain inconspicuous, there was always something that drew eyes upon them. No binding would ever fully hide their wings from view ─ especially not when the attention, for once positive and not full of uncertainty, flitted ear feathers about in uncontrolled expression. It was pleasant, but it did not come without a cost.
Eyes follow as steps begin to fade, only to bring with it another force as grown feet begin to shuffle, and they watch as the other promptly struggles under the brief attention and falls. Happiness snaps to mild concern, the likes of which ignore the risk of tripping over long robes in the process of rushing up to offer help. It seemed these occurrences were far more common than they cared them to be, disrupting the peace of the public in some way by simply existing. But they ignore the thought in favor of something that actually matters, hand held out and readily standing to assist right after. Witnessing the fall, feeling it, surely it had not been comfortable, even if it had been mostly salvaged on the way down. So what a relief it was that he recovers and speaks to them, seemingly unbothered by the event.
❝ Me? Oh, no─ they didn’t. ❞ A gesture of hands with words, as if habitual. Their tone is sheepish, a rose flush far more noticeable on paler skin. ❝ But I am used to it. It is difficult not to sense them coming. ❞ Yet still they were surprised every time, no matter how aware they could be. A smile exchanged for a smile, albeit slightly embarrassed. ❝ I hope it did not trouble you. If you are in need of it, I would be more than happy to help you with that. ❞
|| * zahraalgernon:
“ Why would I care who can see me, hm? ”
Loki barely moved, perhaps they even sunk back a little further, their back against the wall in a comforting notion despite the cold that would be present as soon as the sun had left. The silence the two shared however briefly was far better than hearing more words from anyone. They would always prefer a silent conversation, one that spoke with the eye more than the tongue. They could never reach that peace forever though, could they?
With a slouch, they finally leaned forward, hands on their knees as they glanced around then up towards the man of stone. Their voice was clear despite their lazy posture. Clear and commanding, they didn’t need to follow the rules of a half baked family of pirates masquerading as kings. The blood in their veins–one of their veins–did nothing to gain their respect. As if they had any in the first place.
“ If I return, or move at all, I will do it at my own rule, at my own leisure. ”
❝ Your rule has no power here. ❞
What a burden mercy was; what an unnecessary weight to heft around. It’s a wonder that such patience still held day by day, beaten and broken as it was. The feeling strains the skin, scuffs harsher than aged stone, worn thinner with every breath. Very little was more insufferable than being restrained. But Pica was no fool. He did not allow himself to speak only to invalidate his voice.
❝ This kingdom you walk is a presentable place. ❞ Where other suits claimed ‘happiness’ lived, he avers nothing. There was no such thing here. Every ignorant smile was repulsive. The thought along brings him a deep bitterness. ❝ It will remain that way ─ by His word and my execution. ❞ Tone low as it may go, firm and matching in order, still wrought of indescribable rancor. Yet he does not move, shows no malicious intent or care to strike. Golden eyes only stare through the defiant serpent, into the wall, deep down to the core of the earth. ❝ You are no king. Even if you refuse us reverence, you will never command it. ❞ A rumble preluding a thoughtful silence, enough to dwell on. But a feeling tells him that the other would not heed even the most collected caution, ❝ Remember this as you wander Dressrosa’s streets ─ as you carelessly tread upon my body. ❞
