“A chemist, really,” Fawkes corrects politely.
“I have an average knowledge of other fields of science but… only in relation to their chemical applications and compounds… Chemistry is everything after all.”
Saying that gives Fawkes an excited gleam behind his thick glasses, his passion ignited as bright as the flames infront of the two of them. More than pleased his talents were so appreciated here, he turns and begins fiddling in his pockets for more of his fire-changing powders. The man’s awe was fuelling his own excitement, and Fawkes was keen to impress further with his capabilities.
“Turn it white? That should be no problem!”
Once again he produces another test tube, this one of a white powder that seems to glow in the light of the currently green flames. As Fawkes uncaps it and tosses the contents of the tube in the fire spits and shivers violently. And then, just like that the flames fade from green to a pure white.
│🔥│ “Still, your knowledge of fire is impressive. I figured I was the only one around here with a keen interest in it.”
Ran wasn’t going to let this opportunity go to waste in the slightest. This other man was clearly versed in chemistry, especially regarding fire, and those talents weren’t going unnoticed by him. The bright gleam was still present in his eyes, and though Ran was trying his hardest not to let his excitement get the better of him, it was hard to hide just how awesome the colour-changing show was to him.
Even more so, now that the flames were about to be changed once again.
And Ran definitely wasn’t disappointed. The moment the new powder hit the emerald green flames, the old colour disappeared in a spark of smoke. The fire took on a new colour, a beautiful, sparkling white which resembled the wisps of a large cloud. He couldn’t help but smile widely, stepping closer to the white flames.
“Now, that’s amazing,” The dark haired male replied, looking back towards Fawkes with a grin. “I never thought it’d be possible, but you’ve made fire even more amazing.”
