we are here!
This collective and the open letter is our way of making our voices heard. We want to make an united front of fans. Aaron adressed us and not the women he harmed, therefore we must adress him back.
You can join us for the final edits of the open letter, there’s still time and we want it to be as representative of fans as possible.
The main points are: reject Aaron’s statement, reclaim Wonderstorm implements an HR department and policies to protect its employees from workplace abuse and that the imput of employees who are LGTBQ+ and POC is heard regarding characters like them.
We cannot do this without the fan’s support. We cannot help and push to make a change without the fans support. This is our way to make our voices heard while still supporting the rest of the workers at wonderstorm.
Please, when the open letter is released, take it to all corners of the fandom. Spread this like wildfire.
Please, read and reblog.
Three women who worked with Aaron (head writer and creator) came forward and spoke out about their experiences working with him. All in all, he's been quite abusive of his power and generated an hostile work enviroment. When the women came forward in the company (Wonderstorm) they were ignored. Wonderstorm doesn't even have HR or any policies to protect employees in this kind of situations
To top all of this, Aaron has been private messaging fans on twitter. Yes, you heard right, he’s been private messaging fans on twitter and asking them what do they want regarding LGTBQ+ representation, then telling them it’d come true and to wait and see. This is extremely unprofessional.
This came out a few weeks ago and fans were upset. Aaron then came forward and didn't even adress his ex employees, claimed everything was exaggerated, dismissed without explanation & launched on a tirade about how fans should ignore this and move on because we fans "know him"
We're a collective of fans for The Dragon Prince fans organised as an united front in response to Aaron's statement. We want to make our voice heard. He adressed us. We need all the support from our fellow fans now and SPECIALLY on Friday when we release our open letter (that you can still write with us if you ask for the discord link!)
We are NOT trying to boycott the show. We are trying to reclaim rights for the workers and an apology from Aaron while still supporting the creators and the show. This is not us jumping ship, this is us making it ours.
We have a twitter (@TDPforWorkers) where we are the most active but we need tumblr’s help too.
Please, support us. Please, spread the news.
