Lila Millesime and Flora Mandragora, we have seen an incredible amount of growth from you both. You have consistently shown that you have what it takes to be on Tumblr's Drag Race cycle six, but only one of you will win a guaranteed spot on the upcoming cycle. Without further ado, we are proud to announce that the winner of TDR Charm School cycle 1 is...
going to be announced along with the rest of the cycle six cast! Great job ladies, you've both done an incredible job and we hope to see one of you apply everything you've learned while competing on cycle six.
This week our final two charm school students were required to create their own looks, a testimonial on why they should win, and a lip-sync performance of their choice to prove who really deserves to win!
Lila Millesime
Congratulations to Lila Miliesime and Flora Mandragora for successfully making it all the way through our first TDR charm school! We are all incredibly proud of our girls for the improvement and the dedication each has shown to this competition. Each challenge has been a new and different skill and you ladies have shown that you have what it takes! However, there is only one guaranteed spot on Tumblr’s Drag Race Cycle 6 and we must continue on to the end.
For our final exam, we want to see you queens perform a final lipsync for your life of your choice and show us you have what it takes to compete on TDR. Drag queens are known for their lip syncing and performance capabilities and we want you to show off yours! However, we won't be grading you just on your lipsync, but how well you utilize all of the lessons we’ve given you: Makeup, Hair, Body, Outfit. That’s right ladies. We want to see you in a full head to toe drag look. We urge you to go back and look at all of your critiques over charm school so you can really emphasize how much you have improved. Also, think carefully about your lipsync too and properly plan it out. The girl who thinks about all of these traits and makes us gag on your lipsync will the one who passes the final with flying colors.
For this final exam you will be required to submit:
A video of you lipsyncing to your life to a song of your choice uploaded to your own youtube channel
Two face pictures
Two full body pictures (head to toe and that includes your shoes)
Record a personal statement video describing why you deserve to be the first winner of TDR Charm School and uploaded to your own youtube channel (in your drag look)
Your submissions are due to the blog by 6:00 pm EST on Saturday January 31st. Good luck ladies and for the last time, don’t fuck it up!!
Welcome back, students. Your final pop quiz's have been graded by your professors, and the results are in! It’s time to find out who passed, and who failed.
Lila Millesime, your look was as simple as black and white, you're safe. Congratulations, you will advance to the finale!
Flora Mandragora, you're leopard look was fierce, and you are this weeks winner! Congratulations, you will be moving forward to the finale as well.
Natalie Monroe, you came into Charm School with a very driven attitude, and that attitude is what catapulted you to this very moment. You stepped up your game, and unfortunately it wasn't enough to match your fellow students. You've come very far, and it was an honor seeing you grow. Keep up the good work, because we believe in you! It's very difficult to say this, but you have been expelled from Charm School. Keep doing what we know you're capable of, we love you Natalie!
Amanda - Okay let me start by saying I really like how interesting the skirt is and I really like it! You did a good job on the construction. And your headpiece is absolutely beautiful. My biggest problem with this outfit is the top. Like…. It does not match the skirt at all. I would have absolutely loved this if it was a full dress and it would’ve been so beautiful and elegant! Like I want you to make this into a full dress so bad cause it has so much potential. On another note you can also take that shirt and rip it up stylishly and then go for a rocker/party type look with some cool leggings or something. I don’t have too much to critique you on cause both pieces could work very well separately and you did a nice job on the skirt. But they are two completely different items and don’t work well together. When youre putting together a look, make sure you look at the whole ensemble and look at each piece to make sure its coherent together – that’s the key to a successful look. Really the only thing you could do is add more accessories but thats personal preference. Also – your face looks gorgeous. We’re not judging on that this challenge but I just wanted to let you know that I’m so proud of your paint today! Keep it up in that area!
Giselle - I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Okay girl, this skirt is something I did not expect from you. It's very avant garde, love the shapes! Runway worthy in my opinion. Reminds me of Lady Gaga during The Fame era in the best way possible although I wish it was longer, it would look gorgeous sliding across the ground! Also, I think you would have benefited from ironing the fabric. The skirt is great itself, but it's not working with the outfit as a whole. Your top is cute, your headpiece is great. It doesn't make sense altogether, but I'm glad you stayed true to your style. You stepped it up and exceeded my expectations Natalie, you really impressed me and I'm so proud of you. You have blossomed so much, and I'm so happy to see it.
Liz - I will have to say that this is the best you have looked by far with your mug. If this was a challenge on your mug you would have won hands down, however this is outfitting. Your body is right and looks like you have applied your padding techniques and you are finessing them. I love everything from the waist down. The skirt is very avant garde and something different than what we have seen before. With that being said, you should have continued this idea with the rest of the outfit. The top half of your outfit is so out of place with the bottom. If you were to wear this again, I recommend adding some more white to your outfit on the top. You would get a better distribution of color and would solidify the look. This can be anything from a white jacket, or a different top. I love the use of your accessory on your head, but there should be more! Bracelets, a big necklace, something to make my eye not just go to the bottom of the outfit. You have been doing great each challenge and progressing and your improvement shows that this has helped and I am so proud keep it up.
Flora Mandragora
Amanda - oooooooh bitch. If you made this I’m impressed! Its very well put together and It fits you well! The dress looks great. However – here are a few things that you can do to really take it to the next level. First, your boobs are too low and your giving me grandma tiddies. Place them up a little higher. I love that you belted it! But I still want to see some bigger hips to get your proportions right! Youre on the right path. Another thing I would change is to add some more accessories! I could see like a bright yellow bracelet to complement those earrings and some type of necklace and it would be perf! For this look I definitely want some bright yellow jewelry and even some bright yellow nails! It would be perfect for you and fit you extremely well! Overall I’m pretty impressed with your outfit. Its cute, very flora (from what I’ve seen), and well constructed. Just take some time and add a few thigns to really take it to the next level!
Giselle - I apologize for being so brief. If you made this dress - I am speechless. It's absolutely flawless, I can't clock even a minor detail. This looks gorgeous with the belt, and I noticed that you applied your padding critiques by giving us some waist definition, I love how you pay attention to those small things because it looks great. Everything works with this dress! The earrings, the hood, the glasses, all of the elements are adding to the party, it's very well assembled. Your progress is very clear, and I'm so proud of you honey, you did such a damn good job. That's all I have to say Flora! Great job.
Liz - Yes yes absolutely yes! If you made this outfit from scratch I applaud you because it is done very well. Although I wish there would have been more of a mug, the glasses and lipstick were a cute touch. Your body proportions seem right, although a little more breast couldn’t hurt you. You belted it which is great. The one thing that is missing from this outfit is some more accessories. This could be anywhere from some gloves, bracelets or even some bright yellow tights to really solidify this look. I’m not sure if the head wrap is intentional or not, but it doesn’t really fit with the look. The earrings were perfect to coordinate with the dress. Overall you did a great job and you are doing great with all of these lessons, keep up the good work!
Lila Millesime
Amanda - Hey gurl hey! Okay This is hella cute and I love it. Very lila. The dress is very well constructed and you have a way with clothes. There are a few things I would update if I were you - mainly pushing your concept even further with accessories!. First, I would belt it. Right now you aren’t giving me too much bawdy and I would love to see a black belt or something or another to accentuate your waist. You got some major booty going on which I love but I still want bigger hips. A belt of course will help you out with your body, so if you wear this again (and I hope you do!) I 110% recommend a belt. I would love to see some type of necklace/bracelet/earrings. You don’t have to have jewelry, but it definitely amps up your look. Also, I don’t know if it was intentional, but your tights are a bit distracting cause of the vast difference between your natural skin tone and the white tights. Might be personal preference, but I would recommend tights that are closer to your skin tone. Also one last thing: one thing I suggest trying out would maybe using a black band for your fascinator? And having it blend in a bit with your hair. Just something to try and see how you like it. So what I want you to work on in outfitting: Amping up your concept with accessories. Just like I said with padding and stuff, accessories can take your look from a B+ to an A+++++ if you do it right. You have it going on with the fascinator, I just want you to apply the accessories to the rest of your body! Other than that, hella good job on the outfit. I’m super impressed with this dress. Good job lila!
Giselle - Sorry if I'm a bit short tonight. Yes, yes and even more yes! I love how you've found a signature style through participating in Charm School with your fascinators, it works for you and it works for this look. What I love about this is how well everything is matched, I love the black and white concept! Even your lips are black. You nailed it, and it's obvious that you've learned so much from this brief experience. It would have been nice to see some black and white bracelets with this look. But, this is very fashion-forward, and you did great! Love me some Lila.
Liz - I am really glad that you decided to go with a tighter fitting dress for this challenge because we can see your body proportions more. With that said, they are perfect and that dress is hugging you in all the right places. The outfit overall however was very plain and simple, and I know you said you wanted to stray from color, but that doesn’t mean black and white can be boring too! This would have been perfect with some sort of white fur shawl or a feather boa to give some more accessories on the top half of your body. Accessories overall is what is really missing from this look, bracelets or long black gloves t’s the little stuff that really brings in a look. The shoes are nice, and the tights work well with this, so good job with listening to mama Hermie. The headpiece is alright, however I’m not too sure if it goes with the outfit, because of your black hair, I would suggest something white to counterbalance the colors. You are doing well so far, but we need to step it up if you make it for the final exam!
Good evening ladies, welcome back to class. This weeks lesson will be instructed by Hermaphroditie, and we will be exploring the do's and don'ts of outfit construction.
You will be required to create your very own head-to-toe drag look from scratch, you are free to construct anything you prefer, just be sure to make it to the best of your ability, because this homework will be graded! Just like any other school, the rules are becoming more strict and more enforced, so every moment counts. You can use whatever materials/fabric you like, and however you put together your look is up to you. Your performances in this lesson will determine your scores this week, so do the challenge to your best potential!
For this lesson submission, you must include:
Two photos of your look (head to toe)
Your submissions will be due Tuesday, January 27th at 6:00PM EST.
Our girls sure did show us some body ody ody and let’s hope they can rely on it in the future. However, we must proceed on with this competition because Tumblr’s Drag Race Cycle 6 is starting very very soon. Now let us see who was prepared for our surprise and who needs some more studying time…
Flora Mandragora, girl your knockers sure knocked us out of the park. Keep up the momentum, but dont stop. You have scored high on this pop quiz.
Natalie Monroe, while you gave us some body, we feel like you need to go back and look over your notes some more. With the competition dwindling down, its imperative that you bring it your all for these last few challenges. This week you were safe.
Lila Millisime, can I just say ass ass ass ass ass ass ass! Your work and dedication is very evident and we are proud to say that you are the winner of this challenge! Congratulations girl it was well deserved.
Ellie Dee, your passion and dedication is unmatched and your steady improvement has us all proud. You stepped up to the task as well as going above and beyond each lesson, however we understand why you were unable to submit and we wish it didnt have to be this way. Just remember that you always have a family with us and we truly love you dearly. Best of luck in the world of drag and we hope to see you compete on Tumblr’s Drag Race because you would be able to truly take out some competition. It is extremely hard to say this, but you have been expelled from charm school. Keep your head up and your LED lights shining bright girl.
Good evening ladies! For this lesson you were tasked to give us your best body and really utilize certain techniques to give you some type of figure. However, tonight, instead of just homework, we decided to have a Pop Quiz!!! Thats right. Unbeknownst to our students, they were graded on their submissions and one girl will be expelled! As a reminder to our pupils, every moment counts here in charm school and on TDR so we expect their best each and every time. Let us see who served us up some major bawdy and who served us up some major boxy!
Flora Mandragora:
Amanda:
: Hey Flora! Allrighty so you got it goin on in your tiddies and they are at the right place on the front view. However for the side view, they look kind of off and not as round as they should be. What did you use to fill them? I would take a bit more filling to them and then you’ll get it! The hip pads don’t look like they are the same size either – and I want them bigger! I can tell you have some hippage, but its not really enough. When youre making them, constantly try them on before you shave down. That way you can tell if they are symmetrical and if theyre too big or too small. My biggest critique for you though is your waist. You have some boy body which isn’t bad. But! We’re bein ladies here. Your waist should be cinched. The simplest and cheapest way is a belt. Like I said, it will tighen up your core and while it wont completely cinch it, it still gives off a pretty good illusion and will boost up your figure. You could also invest in a waist cincher but that’s up to you. Good luck ma’am!
Giselle: Flora Mandragorawhoraariola, it's that time again! I wish to god you would have worn a leotard or something more revealing so we could see that padded body! I feel like this dress isn't hugging your body in the places it should. I think you did well, but I was hoping to see more of an hourglass figure, so just keep that in mind next time and focus on achieving that, also I wished there was more definition in your waist, I feel as though you could have made your pads bigger, or just made your waist smaller so things balance out perfectly. The boobs - yes, I can't even clock an issue with those, you did a very good job constructing those knockers. Overall, great job Flora! Much love.
Liz: I am so impressed at how far you have come! When you submitted you audition, I was a little bit worried but you have been consistent and improving with all your challenges. As for your body shape, it works, but it needs a little bit more work. The only thing that is really missing is a cincher or a belt to push that hourglass figure. Either that, or give your boobs and hips a bigger proportion so that your waist looks that much smaller. It might just be the fit of the dress, but I recommend something that hugs you more overall, it just seems like it it sitting on you rather than giving you the shape you want. Overall great job and keep up the good work!
Lila Millesime:
Amanda: Hey Lila! Okay so the tittieds look nice and your waist is tiny! From the waist up you got those proportions right. The only thing I would change is maybe set your tiddies just a little smidgeon higher, but that’s up to you. Now onto your hips: They don’t look like they are the same size, like the one on your left is a bit smaller than the right one. It may be how you are standing though but I don’t think that’s the case. They need to be set just a biiit higher too cause you don’t want a saggy butt. Also I want them to be a big bigger! Its completely up to you whether you do that or not, but they would give you more of that body ody ody. I know lila is a tiny little cute girl, but you can still serve up the body! Go back and fix them up just a tad but you are on the right track! Also your butt looks great just so you know. Also this has nothing to do with pads but your zipper in the back is off center so make sure you take a look at all aspects before you take everything off (I have that problem too and I never notice anything wrong until after I submit, so its okay!)
Giselle: Hey Peanut-Shittle (sorry, still adjusting!) I have to say you did an impressive job! I had an issue with the bottom of this dress because I wish we could have seen your full figure, I feel like the dress cuts it off mid-hip. But regardless, they look smooth and natural and your waist is pinched! Your hips could be a tad larger, but I ain't even mad at it! Also, that ass is an ass I would pay to see shake in my face at the club. A+ on the titties, you did great. Good luck Lila, kisses.
Liz: I wish you would have gone with a dress that was tighter so that we can see your shape more. Just a tip, if you ever don't want to pad wear a flow-y skirt or a puffy skirt to still give you a feminine shape. Your breasts are amazing so keep on doing this in the future! As for your hips, I can't really tell how they fit because of the dress. But from what I can see, I recommend making them bigger and raising them up slightly to give you more shape. I will say this, your butt is A+ in this. Keep up the good work dear!
Natalie Monroe:
Amanda: Hey natalie! All right girl we got some work to do. First – your tiddies look all right, but they need to be set higher. Right now they are sagging and you don’t want grandma boobs (maybe you do, but I don’t think that’s the case). I would like them to maybe be in line with your armpit. Try it out and see what position works best for you. Also, setting them higher will help out your proportions so much! Right now everything is looking for bunched and smooshed together and you don’t really have much of a waist. I recommend too having a belt of sorts or some waist cincher too. It will help out your curvaceous figure that much more. For your padding: I want you to go back and work on it and make those edges smoother! Right now they are very chunky. I can’t really tell because of the skirt you’re wearing, but they just look odd. The good thing is, I think they are the right size. But you need to smooth out the edges so they blend in seamlessly to your leg. I think your biggest problems were your grandma tiddies and the lack of a waist. If you focus on those two things I feel like you will be on the right track for body.
Giselle: Hey miss diva! First of all, I love this top and I want it. But let's jump into what really matters this week, your curves and crevices hunny. The shape of your boobs look great! But, they look a little saggy/grandma to me, if you would push them up a bit further I think you would benefit greatly! Moving on to your hips, I have to say girl they look very flat! I think you should have given them a more rounded shape, because this doesn't look like a very feminine figure, and I feel like it's all hiding underneath this unflattering outfit! I wish we could really see the work you put in, and I wish you gave a clearer representation of what you've done by wearing something tighter. Love you girl, good luck
Liz: There really isn't a problem with this shape you have right now, the only big thing are your breasts. They seem very low for you and seem saggy rather than perky. The outfit you have on is not very flattering, so I think this is why your proportions seem a big off. If you are going to tuck a shirt into a skirt, try and using a belt or a corset so that the looks is much cleaner. Keep up the good work dear, but I need you to push it even further in the upcoming challenges!
Good morning ladies! It’s Amanda Westbrook and for this lesson we are going to explore the wonderful world of proportion control aka serving up body ody ody!
Utilizing hip padding, boob padding, and waist cinching can easily take your look from B+ to A+++. With a few simple tips and tricks, you can really elevate your look and give off a much stronger illusion. For this lesson, we are going to explore this side of drag - kind of some “behind the scenes” work that will help out your look. For this week’s homework, you will be required to show us your body. You can wear whatever you like (whether you put on an outfit or just show off your body in your pantyhose/bra. It’s completely up to you), but we must see some type of figure. Listen to the tutorial and explore the additional links I left on the video description in order to get ideas. The girl who attempts and does well on these techniques will be rewarded highly! However, the girl who doesn’t listen or doesn’t try will unfortunately have to be expelled.
For this lesson submission, you must include:
Three pictures (one front, one back, one profile) of you showing off your body ody ody
Your homework submissions will be due to this blog by Friday, January 23rd at 6:00PM EST.
Welcome back, students. Your test results are in! It’s time to find out who passed, and who failed.
Flora Mandragora, we've all heard the phrase "the higher the hair, the closer to god" and we're proud to say your score is just like your hair, high!
Ellie Dee, this week you stole the LED spotlight. Condragulations, you are the winner of this weeks lesson!
Natalie Monroe and Lila Millesime, will you please step forward. The dedication and passion you two show is amazing and we are so happy that you all have been a part of charm school. However, while we were very impressed with both of your looks, unfortunately, a decision must be made......
shante you both stay! Because all of you thoroughly impressed us, we have decided that all of you deserve to stay. However, next test you might not be so lucky so keep up the good work girls! You will both continue your semesters at TDR Charm School, Tumblr's Drag Race is founded on helping drag queens to improve and you both did exactly that. However, consider this a warning! Congratulations.
For this test, our students were required to take a plain wig, and style it to the best of their ability based on the skills they acquired from the lesson as well as their homework. Let's find out who passed and who failed.
Welcome back our four remaining students! Now that you’ve had your lesson and submitted your homework, it’s time for your hair test! For this test, you will be required to submit a before and after photo of your hair transformation in the same format as this weeks homework. You can style your hair in any way you prefer, applying what you’ve learned from this weeks lesson as well as professors’ critiques. We expect to see an improvement from this weeks lesson. Only three students will continue the semester in hopes of winning a spot on Tumblr's Drag Race cycle six!
For this test submission you must include:
Two photos of your pre-styled wig (front and back)
Two photo of your wig post-styling (front and back)
Your submissions will be due Wednesday, January 21st at 9:00PM EST
For this weeks homework, our four remaining Charm School students were instructed to take a plain wig, and style it to the best of their ability based on what they learned from this weeks lesson. Let’s see how they did!

Amanda - All righty so the wig looks nice – however I really couldn’t tell much difference between the before and after picture other than you fixed it up a little bit and added a second wig/and or bump. It does look very full though and props on that. I cant tell for sure but it looks like the wigs are connected odd. I would find some accessory to stick there if you do it that way or comb through that section to blend them together so you don’t see that separation on the top of your head. I would love to see you experiment with the bangs a little more and maybe add a bit of a curl/swooped bang? Take a bit of gel/hairspray and if you have some curlers roll up that bang and let it sit for a day then undo them and you should be good. Just play around with a few styles and ask yourself – how can I take this to the next level? I’m going to tell you the same thing I told lila – if you want to keep up with your sisters and and outshine them you really have to bring it!
Giselle - Hey Natalie! Thanks for your submission. Let me just start off by saying, you're giving me face in these photos. Yas! I actually love this wig, it's gorgeous, but it's really hard to distinguish your before and afters because they look so similar. The alteration you made to your hair is so minimal, and I didn't see much of a transformation. I did notice that your hair is fuller after your styling, it looks like you padded under your wig, which was a smart decision, it looks great. Good attention to detail there hun! There's not much I can say other than I wish you would have put more effort into making more of a difference in your hair. You could have even added an accessory to bring more life to it if you lack hair skills. You know I love you, I applaud and appreciate your efforts, I'm just a bit underwhelmed by your performance overall for this lesson however, it's a lesson. So I want you to take advantage of the test this week and see it as a new opportunity to blow us away, and show us what you've got! Much love darling, I wish you luck.
(side note: Liz was absent from critiques, but she will return)

Amanda - Ooooh this is cute! I could totally see it as like a 60’s/70’s look with you in like a bright floral dress or something. I like how you incorporated the bump into it – but I want it bigger! Do you have another short blonde wig? Or even a bit longer one! Take it and lay it over the bump you already have going on then put the headband to hide the separation and voila you have even more hair!! In the drag world – the bigger the hair the better. Over exaggerate everything! You have it going on with the bump but I wanna see even higher! You might also try turning a wig inside out and placing it under your wigcap and that will give you a huge bump. Or doing the other wig trick. Do you have any curlers? Roll the ends of the wig, spray with some hairspray and let them sit for like a day and you’ll get a bigger dramatic curl on the end of that wig. I love this look and with a few modifications it will be so cute!
Giselle - Hey Flora! Thanks for your submission. I love how you accessorized! Doing this really set you apart from the other girls. However, this is a very simple hairstyle, your styled hair looks like a more polished version of your pre-styled hair, and that's all I'm getting from you girl. I think I also detect that you may have added a slight bump to the back, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm happy to see that you tried, but I would have loved to see you do something more interesting. I know that you can get more creative with things, you we're given complete artistic control this week to go in any direction you like. I know it's just a lesson, but I hope for this weeks test, you can pull out the inner creativity and craftyness to present something even better. Good luck Flora Mandragorawhoreariola, mad love for you.

Amanda - Okay I love two toned hair and I feel like it would be really cute in face. However – I didn’t see too much styling/change going on besides you brushing it and cleaning it up a little bit. What I do sometimes to get a little bit of the frizz out is I just condition it! I wont completely eliminate the frizz, but it makes it nice and soft and gives it a nice shine. Also prevents it from tangling up too badly (for a while at least. Run it in your tub/shower/sink and start at the bottom and work your way up wetting it then apply the conditioner bottom to top. Then make sure you rinse it all out (bottom to top) and let it dry a bit – then it will be long and wavy and less frizzy. I would also recommend adding an accessory or something to the hair to kind of amp it up and make it more interesting – like liz said a big bow would be cute or go a la lacy and put mcdonalds up in there (lol jk unless you want to). You can put whatever you’d like! Take the item and just hot glue it to a headband and voila – you have a cute accessory! I could also see this a cute snatched pony tail. Idk if you have a lacefront wig or not but maybe in the future invest in a two tone one and then add this one onto it. I just want more from this and you. The two tone hair is cute like I said, but if you want to outshine your competitors and advance on – you have to do something else to make it steal the show!
Giselle - Hey Lila! Thanks for your submission. I love how in your before photos you were making an "icky" face, and then for your afters, you had an exciting face! Really brings attention to the fact that you were taking a busted wig, and making it look cleaner and more wearable. I just want you to be aware that there is a lot you can do with hair, and it looked like you teased a bit/or even just brushed it out more. It looks fuller, that is the only difference that I can see. You didn't present much, and if you're having issues feel free to message any of us (maybe Liz, because she's the hair goddess) but I wished you would have dedicated more time into thinking about what you we're going to do, because there's always a creative process, so make sure you have an idea first. It looks like you sat down with a hair tool and just went at it. I understand that you're new to hair, but there's always risks you can take even if you're not comfortable making them. Get an idea, and go for it! Get inspired for this weeks test, because it is another chance for you to prove yourself. I love you Lila! Good luck honey.
