Lord Vader is COMPLETE! Inspired by William Shakespeare’s Star Wars. Armored pieces made from carpet underlayment, millinery wire, flex glue, and paint. Crown from lace, wire,  and a dollar store Christmas ornament.

Bag End garden, take two! The first edition “literrarium” was in a big, glass canister and featured a plaster and basswood hobbit house. I learned the hard way that the damp terrarium environment was extremely difficult to regulate. Mold killed all of the plants and ruined the house. This version is made from free linoleum samples from the hardware store, which give lifelike texture and paint up beautifully! I went with an open-air environment this time, but if mold sets in, I can just rinse and replace the house front. Door hinges are cut clock hands and the windows are made from lockets.

The design studios at Southern Oregon University. If you’re a drama teacher and don’t have your Master’s yet, LOOK INTO THEIR MASTER’S PROGRAM. Seriously. It’s three weeks each summer for three summers, and it’s absolutely life changing! You can stay in the dorms with other inspiring teachers and make costumes, props, and sets all day long. It’s hard work but it’s totally worth it!

We learned electrical stuff! My candle is made from pvc, melted/twisted glass for the flame, hot glue, and spray paint. Cheap and easy!

Prepping for our school open house with scrapbooks commemorating each of my past elective classes. They connect to basswood shelves with magnets! Really happy with how this turned out.

Magazine cover for Grease or West Side story prop! This took a few hours (and a PicMonkey account), but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
