SA Games Round-up: 22-28th November
We started doing a weekly round-up of all the cool games related stuff we saw happenning in South Africa!
The lovely Ben Rausch, one third of indie super band, Team Lazerbeam, suggested we put the round-up in a blog post too for ease! So here we go!
The Free Lives team of Broforce fame, decided to go to Mauritius to game jame for a few months and release their next fame and money inducing success, Genital Jousting. They’re documenting the whole thing through a 12 part video series - here’s the launch of Genital Joustinag in part 11!
Frog Smashers is a rad FROGS ONLY combat game that looks like a mash-up between Samurai Gunn and Lethal League. It was a collaboration on Game Jam Island between Cape Town game devs Ruan, Ben, and Cape Town animator of awesomeness, Mike Scott.
The Team Lazerbeam squad have been working on their follow-up to so-cool-it’s-ice-cream dating simulator, Snow Cones: Episode 1. They’ve been sharing little pieces of Episode 2 and this GIF of a procedurally animating character melted our Choc-chip hearts to oblivion.
Probably the best game this year about stabbing people , after Genital Jousting, Yojimbrawl looks like a ton of fun, with some rad new art implemented too!
This is a gorgeous looking RTS from the chaps over at Knife Media. We’re keen to get our hands on some game time soon too!
The game is self-proclaimed as a “ VR survival game for wussies” and runs using the HTC Vive. The game looks like a bunch of silly, burny fun.
Just as we were finishing up our round-up, we got the news that superbly named, Kopskop Games, had released an Alpha demo of their gnarly brawler, Shattered Realms on Itch.io! Go give it a play!
