OK cool! Just wanted to know coz it's been years since I wrote anything for Naruto but this zine still seemed interesting and fun to maybe think about participating in. Hopefully you all get the response you're hoping for! Keep up the good work :)

What are the mods looking for in terms of a portfolio? Especially for writer applications. Is experience working with zines and/or fandom specific works necessary for an applicant to be selected? What's the general criteria? (Please feel free to answer after the interest check has ended, no rush at all)

Hi hi!

We'll be posting our application guidelines nearer to the end of our interest check (or right after it closes), but, in general, we ask for 3 samples of what you consider your best work/showcase your style as well as a general portfolio of your work. We won't have a limit on pieces that are in your portfolio so you can either link to your AO3 profile or a Google Drive folder, for example.

Zine experience is absolutely not necessary! We absolutely love and welcome newcomers. 🧡 We haven't yet finalized our decision to require a Naruto sample or not, but we do recommend it nonetheless, even if we don't require it! Just because it gives us a better idea of how you draw/write the characters.

General criteria hasn't been finalized yet just because we do want to consider our interest check results first (for example, writer sample word count criteria may change depending on what wins in our interest check), etc etc. But, again, we'll be sure to put everything in our application guidelines. 🥹
