I think I said in the past that, in this little au, ZA did manage to die in the human extinction event.

I have decided to retract that statement. It's a lot more interesting/funnier if there was exactly one (1) human chilling in this pmd world. He's fine. He's still got Floette.

I wonder if Volo's pokemon met him, and if thats what set them off into the deep end?

In the canon timeline, nah, they did not meet him. The souls they were trying to manipulate stayed in the Sinnoh region for the most part.

But in a timeline slightly to the left, if they did find out about AZ, they'd probably spend a few decades in Kalos to see if something is different about that region and/or AZ's immortality vs Volo's.

And then try to find the immortality machine to use once they resurrect Volo.

In hindsight, I'm shocked that I never included any references to my old pokemon mystery dungeon OCs in LTOT

Damn, it's been 2 years and it's still holding that title? Nice! Even if that changes in the future, that's pretty sweet

I look back and reread the fic pretty often. There's a lot of things I would change in retrospect - make the half-blessed abilities Ingo and Emmet have more defined, make it more clear that the Monster House Detection ability is connected to a pokemon trainer's danger sense, genuinely include the first Derailed with Chandelure kidnapping the twins canon, etc - but this fic was a product of its time. A time of hyperfixation and long periods of boredom while working at an amusement park.

But right now, I don't have too much of a desire to go back on the fic. Maybe random inspiration will strike, such as the oneshot for the Swap AU, but I feel pretty good about it! And I;m happy people are still finding it and rereading it and enjoying it! That's the best part!

It's about a younger monster hunter who meets a phantom bound to a suit of armor and a half-turned werewolf and they hunt monsters together.

Nothing groundbreaking, it's episodic but has an overarching story about dealing with trauma and finding your place in the world. Right now, I call it "Those Who Become Monsters"

I keep holding off on it bc I imagine it as a webcomic, and it's a lot of drawings
