Inspired by this post Ok, so, the Blanche page on Facebook somehow managed to brainwash me into taking this ship in. I know most people would go for the red oni blue oni ship but this time I seem to be more attracted to the endearing silly man and very smart significant other pair. Cuz, let’s be honest. That type of ship is pretty cute too. I somewhat channeled Steven Universe into Spark for some reason XDDDD Oh well.

If that's Spark's origin story, could Blanche's be that they thought they found a Shiny Pidgeot but actually it's just Articuno. Just imagine Willow telling a very young Blanche to find him a Pidgeot and describing it as "A big, cool bird with a funny crest and a few long feathers trailing after it?" Because there weren't many Pidgeots where Blanche lived. And when Blanche comes back, they're like "Professor, I found one!" and Articuno just swoops in.

I’d rather look at it from the team views. Spark just happens to wander into the power plant and find Zapdos. Then we have Articuno who is said to appear to those who are freezing on mountains, so Blanche climbs one and takes off her jacket in order to face the legendary bird. And finally, we have Moltes, who according to one pokedex entry, “Those seeing it are overwhelmed by its orange wings that seem to be on fire.” Enter Candela, who after a Motres lands in the middle of town a bunch of grown men and they all turn away, but little Candela walks straight up to the giant bird without even glancing away.
