what was ur reaction to finding the temple of time? sometimes i go back there so i can hear the song again :'D

ok so my absolute favorite thing is whenever there are references or easter eggs of some kind to already established events or characters from a series or franchise. one of the reasons why i adore zelda so much is because of all the little ways they blend past stories into the newer ones, whether it’s the remixed music, the location names, or straight up allusions and references to past heroes and legends. when zelda’s speech in the first recovered memory included “skyward bound, adrift in time, or steeped in the glowing embers of twilight…”??? i actually got goosebumps. i love that shit. in terms of callbacks, twilight princess walked so breath of the wild could run.

so to answer your question… i definitely slowly walked through the temple of time for a long time. ocarina of time is a very personal and important game to me, and oot/mm link even more so. the added details of skyward sword, the broken notes of the original theme… the fact that it’s the first named location nearly every new player will stumble on as well as where king rhoam reveals himself and gives the main questline? i think it’s the game’s way of letting you know that, yes, time has passed. shit went down. the temple of time is in ruins, but it’s still standing because there’s still a story to tell. i love it so much
