The Twitter Dress

- CuteCircuit

This dress comes from fashion designer CuteCircuit. The dress is made up of more than 10000 MicroLEDs and is wirelessly controlled in real time via tweets! When the person who is wearing the dress receives a tweet the tweet will scroll across around the dress creating an interactive and immersive experience.

“Chromosonic project is an electronic textile that changes color, using an Arduino open-source platform. The dynamic changes in the textile color, derive from processed sound files. Screen printing was used to cover the textile in a dye that changes with temperature. Electric current makes the wires woven into the fabric heat up, changing the pattern.” - E J T E C H

The Living Wall Project

Theses light up wallpapers are part of the Living Wall project led by Leah Buechley at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab.

To create the light up wallpaper Leah used cheap brightness, temperature and touch sensors, LED lights and Bluetooth, this will enable the wall to communicate with nearby devises. When all of these elements combined it created amazing piece of innovative textiles, you can lay your hand on one of the flowers and light up a leaf, you can even play music using the wall or message a friend!

Liquid Light

- Malin Bobeck

This is a piece by textiles designer Malin Bobeck. She has been working with textiles for the last 12 years and has been running her own company since 2014.

Liquid Light (seen in the video) is Malin playing with the idea of light hitting water.

“When light hits a drop of water remarkable things can occur. It can refract through the water and form rainbows in the sky. Or it can have a mirroring effect, reflecting it back and create small spots of light.” -Malin Bobeck
