im sebastian (he/it/pup), this is my tech special interest side blog :) my niche is primarily old recording tech, like phonographs and cameras, but i like crts n old pcs as well. i collect old tech too, ask me about my collection, I have a bunch! my dream, my holy grail.... a wax cylinder phonograph. she is my dream girl. literally my life will be complete should i ever get one. working on getting an 8 track tape player too at the moment.

first laptop the battery was dead completely i think, wouldnt boot up just kept crashing, so ill ask my brother what to do about it. second laptop (pictured) starts, but it's doing updates or something so i don't know if it'll boot past this screen. playing the waiting game now

i think, aside from the pretentious stuff, the reason i like old recording tech so much is just. it fascinates me how we've managed to record and play back audio over the last century and a half. it's so neat. i need to do more reading into it because im just fascinated by the method, how we inscribed the sound into physical media.

i also adore the first ever audio recording. its hard to understand and the quality isnt good compared to today but back then it was a technological marvel! and then the obvious feeling of "all these people are dead now, yet we listen to their ghost, their echo, their essence. preserved in history." its just. ugh. i love humans and art and technology. sorry to be pretentious on main it WILL happen again.
