Bataar was scouting for his squad when he located a lone tech marine walking along the path. Landing on the ridge he knelt as he watched the distant figure. His eyes narrowed as he zoomed in on the insignia as he thought about what chapter this might be as but could not figure out which chapter could be nor could he place which with the coloration. Kneeling as he reported into his squad he got closer to the lone marine looking for others they may be with.
Razael walked a long as he was currently aimless in his search as he could not locate the next location to the clues Galmech left behind. All he aquired was that it was in this area as he walked along the path he found. It was going to be difficult to get anytbing out of the locals as this was some back water planet which suprised him. Why would his master of come here of all places. His helmet sensors kicked in the audio it picked up as he turned to look towards the ridge unsure of what he heard. Scanning the landscape he frowned as he saw nothing on the prize or on the close by ridge. Keeping still he scowled as he knew he wasn’t hearing his imagination as there was a small log that flashed up for a moment as he did a play back.
Defensively he drew his knife. After running into a chapter traitor he had no love for an ambush again as the lack of feeling in his right arm was painfully put at the front of his thoughts. Continuing to look about he missed the movement of the white scar as he stepped back towards the fireat as he swivled his head about for other signs of danger.
Moving closer he noted the Marine was now on alert and drew their combat blade. But had not seen him as their head kept moving back and forth in a careful scanning of the surroundings. But now that he was closer he saw the clear markings of imperial markings as he relaxed to a degree. He knew some marines were not the friendliest. Or the sanest as his thoughts darkened to the older member of his chapter who started a fight with another marine from a different chapter with little reason. Noting the marine only drew their blade he breathed out as the tech marine was just showing he was cautious.
Breathing out, Bataar bent his legs and jumped as his pack roared to life as he claimed to land at the foot of the ridge, but with the distance between him and the tech marine. Thumping heavily into the ground he was fast to move, from landing positioning to opening up his hands, bring them up “Greetings Brother Techmarine. We were unaware of another chapter being active in the area.” Hanging back he was ready to act if this proved to be a dangerous situation.
As the white armored astartes dropped in front of him the knife drew up for a fight as he was ready for a hard attack. But soon he took in the reds and yellows of the white scar as he let the blade lower for a moment before moving farther down, returning the blade to his side. “Star hunter… White scar. I was not expecting to run into those of your chapter.” He paused as he realized another implied a question of another chapter in the area before narrowing his eyes as he thought on what to say. “My chapter is not deployed to the area. However, I am here on chapter business. Is there something I may assist you with? My business can wait.” He didn't want to admit to needing assistance to locating the next clue to the information stash but at the same time he might as well find out why the White Scars are there and if it interfered with his own mission.
Relaxing as the tech marine, disarmed himself from immediate attack Bataar lowered his own hands in response as he listened as Star hunter puzzled him for a moment before realizing the other used an old name for his chapter. Strange to hear that as a go-to for another as he set a hand on his side as he rested on one leg in thought as he watched them. And strange as the tech marine, a specialist was alone leaving questions about the chapter itself. Without chapter members but acting alone. While there were chapters like that he could not place a name to the chapter with the spider emblem. Maybe one of those minor ones several chapters down the way.
And delaying their own actions was a bit suspicious as he continued to look the other up and down. Deciding against telling the strange marine about what their reason for being there is he asked, “What specialty is your chapter? I fear I do not recognize your symbol.”
@white-scar-astartes
Annoyance flickered through Razael as he felt judged by the fifth chapter as his fingers curled as he glowered at the white scar as he remained on guard. The other kept their eyes on him before they asked their question. His lips curled back in a slight snarl at the blatiant question and lack of knowing. While expected he felt as if this other was judging his chapter. "I am an Imperial Nightmare. We favor stealth. Did you require my services?" Short and curt he felt no need to tell the other more as he looked the direction he was heading then back towards the white scar to see if they were done with these questions and if his services were needed. If this was going to be trouble then he did not wish for it. Especially since the white scars do not work alone and he is now lacking the suprise stealth would of granted him if an attack was to happen.
