PrePear Unable to Create A Recipe to Shake Off Apple’s Legal Claims

Recently, Apple – the tech giant has sued a small business, Prepear, claiming that it has copied their iconic logo design.

To our surprise among the several icons which the slide showed, one looked outrageously similar to Apple's very own Face ID logo design. However, it is still not clear if this was the mistake done by Samsung or it was something done on purpose. The icon was not 100% the same, as just few not so clear changers were done.

“The lines seemed a bit thicker and closer together, and the corners were less rounded, but it chiefly looked like Apple’s Face ID icon, with a slight change done to adjust it with the art on rest of the slide.”

We are still not sure either Samsung did this on purpose or if they are actually planning to change their icon and make it similar to apple’s face ID logo design. However, it could also be some kind of strategy of the company to create hype among the followers; there could be any reason behind this. But till now, it seems like Samsung has made quite a blunder from its side. And if this was, in fact, a mistake, then Samsung must get ready to face a massive criticism. Though, as yet, neither Samsung nor Apple has revealed any news regarding this!

Samsung Copies Apple Yet Again, This Time Its Face ID Logo

They say that old habits never die. Though Apple and Samsung both have a long and complicated history, but it looks like Samsung is the one prevailing to strengthen its stealing habits, as this is not the first time it has copied Apple.

The company presented various Samsung Pass features, which is a password manager or pre-installed user authentication service for smartphones and tablets, during the Samsung CES keynote event 2020. Soon after the announcement, bloggers and viewers in the audience room started peering around HS Kim, the president and CEO of Samsung Electronics, saying the icon looks a lot like the Apple’s Face ID icon. And if you pay a little attention, it actually seems the exact same. Though all the lawyers with a pixel-accurate ruler might not agree, but to anyone else, Samsung has once again taken Apple’s icon.

There also is news of Samsung Pass arriving on the iPhone, in which users may be able to get the authentication using the Face ID. If these rumors turn out to be true, then there is a possibility of Apple giving permission to Samsung for using the Face ID logo.

If you take a look back over many of such decisions Samsung has made internally over the last few years, it would be hard to argue in favor of the integrity of its design sector. We will never know if the reason behind blatantly copying the visual designs of various Apple devices is created at the top of the corporate food chain and then distributed to individual departments, or merely the design team at Samsung lacks individuality. And, this is not the first time Samsung has copied the work of its rivals.

Apple has sued Samsung for copying the iPhone design, but people think it will keep stealing the design icons in the subsequent times as well.

Why can’t Samsung just invest in a great design company and let this stealing habit die out? It shouldn’t be that difficult.

Logo designers` take on PS5 Logo and It Isn`t Pretty

After a long build-up, slowly releasing information over the past few months, Sony has finally revealed the new PS5 logo design. The Play Station logo designs are famously known to be quite bare-bones, with not much to show. So it's no shocking news that Sony changed 4 to a 5 without making any drastic changes to the original logo design.

Instead of showing the much anticipated new PS5 at CES 2020, Sony only showed the new logo design, which reportedly did not turn any heads. The new logo design looks exactly like the design for PS4, which looked exactly like PS3.

We understand that change is scary, especially for such a profoundly loved brand, like Sony. Fans take it up on social media, rant against the new concepts, which ultimately brings bad publicity. But if Sony thought that not changing the design was playing it safe, they sorely miscalculated their move and has the company land right into the pit it tried to avoid. The claws are out, trolls are rejoicing, and it just isn’t pretty.

But to be fair, Sony has kept its logo design similar over the course of its console’s life, with minute changes. It is a tough market out there. People rant about everything and anything. The bottom line is, the logo design is not terrible; it gets the job done. Granted, there is a visible lack of creativity and clearly, the company has not put in much effort and thought into it, but at the end of the day, it gets the job done. When you look at it, you know what it's about. Yes, it's not all that. But it's there. Existing. Some of the world’s most iconic logo designs are simple, and Sony’s PlayStation happens to be one of them.
