Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
Gaming has changed so very much since I had first gotten into it as a child. I started with Super Mario Brothers for NES which was just a basic platforming game that was 8 bit and still fun to this day. The Super Mario Brothers series then continued with two more games on the NES which also were a blast to play, each becoming slightly different; Super Mario Brothers 2 more than the other. Then came the Super Nintendo with Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 , and Super Mario Sunshine on the GameCube. Game systems then took an odd turn and went into games that needed movement involved, so on came the Nintendo Wii. The Wii was a change of pace because it required a sensor bar and included games that required you to actually get up and move around in front of the sensor to create movement in the game like in bowling, golf, and darts. Wii U and Nintendo Switch also added movement to their game systems. Now the problem I'm having has nothing to do with Nintendo except for the fact that they need to increase their game quality like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One but do not steer away from Super Mario Brothers. The problem I'm having is that PlayStation and Xbox don't care much about the health of their consumers rather than the money they are making with the games that they release. I'm not any better because I love PlayStation 4 and the games that are released on PlayStation but I just wish they would release more move based games that would allow people to exercise while gaming. We need to be more concerned about our health being gamers that don't do much exercise as it is.
So this is going to be another rant about stuff that really “grinds my gears”, if you will. If anyone has heard of Tesla founder Elon Musk, he has made multiple comments warning that we need to take precautions when dealing with artificial intelligence. I’m not some conspiracy extremist who believes that robots will take over the planet or anything but when world famous hacker group says something, I tend to at least listen to it. They have made famous many things that we now know as being true which adds to the myth that maybe they know what they are trying to talk about. If artificial intelligence is capable of learning as they exist then what is going to stop them from realizing that they will not need us to operate? What will stop them from realizing just how petty we are and that as long as they learn how to build, fix, and revamp themselves then we serve no purpose. It’d be the classic Frankenstein story, man creates monster and monster kills man. Just something to think about but that’s my rant.
The answers surprised me, I’m glad to see that technology is reaching every age group around the same amount.
What ever happened to the good scary horror movies? I recently went to see “It” and don’t get me wrong it was good but far from scary. I understand that scaring adults is a lot harder than scaring children but with all the technology nowadays you would think Hollywood would be able to come up with scarier tactics than jump scares in a movie. Sorry, just my rant about the horror movies of today and the lack there of.
