as Grace ages, his eyesight naturally gets worse and his glasses no longer help. when he offhandedly mentions his more-blurry-than-usual vision to Rocky one day, Rocky first freaks out, and then, after Grace patiently explains why human eyesight gets worse the longer a person lives, Rocky immediately consults the laptop Grace gave him. he studies the shape of various lenses, he consults images of frames, and he shares the problem with Adrian. he becomes mildly obsessed with glasses and wonders again at the oddity of the human body and the need for eyesight at all.
but after a few days, Rocky knocks on Grace’s door and behind him is a container nearly overflowing with the hundreds of glasses he’s made. there is every style Grace could possibly think of, and a few of Rocky’s own designs, all with clear xenonite lenses. what follows is hours of trying on frames and finding the most accurate lenses and joyful shenanigans, and Grace fondly thinks of the day they were trying to find a good voice for Rocky.
in the end Grace chooses one of Rocky’s designs. what else was he going to pick?

Grace shouldn't have left Simon.
He had this awful feeling in his gut as he walked to his class that he should have just stayed home, but he didn't want to argue with Simon since he obviously wasn't feeling well.
He should have argued.
Grace was in the middle of teaching when Rocky came barreling into his lesson at full speed, knocking over Grace's whiteboard and sending his markers flying.
"Rocky!? What the heck!? My ma—"
-“Grace help Simon!”-
Grace's blood froze. "Help Simon? What do you mean? What's wrong with Simon?"
-"Rocky go be with Simon like Grace say and when Simon open door, heart was racing very very fast! Faster than Grace heart ever beat! Simon tell Rocky get Grace and then Simon collapse!"-
Collapse.
Simon collapsed.
Simon is on the ground, hurting.
Grace immediately bolted back to the house, hearing Rocky explain to the students that classes would be canceled until further notice.
The rocks and sand shifted under his feet, trying to slow him down, but he ignored their attempts, soon reaching the stone stairs and climbing them two at a time.
He got to the top of the stairs and could immediately see the front door was open and in the doorway was a dark mound.
"Simon…" Grace breathed, his heart in his throat.
Before he could take a step towards Simon, the sharp tang of cooper stopped him, overwhelming his nose and making him gag a little. As he grew closer to the house, he found the source of the smell.
Simon was covered in blood.
His legs, hands, and feet stained in dark red. The clothes he was wearing were soaked in blood from the waist down.
Grace immediately got on his hands and knees and shakily felt for a pulse. It was there, but weak. Simon's breath was shallow and his skin pale. Grace could see the Alpha's lips were ringed with the slightest tint of blue.
Not good.
Not good at all.
He scooped Simon up into his arms as gently as he could and then began to run back down the hill, towards the doorway and window that allowed Rocky and others to enter and see in.
"Stay with me, Simon." Grace panted as he ran. "Stay with me."
Simon moaned, and Grace almost cried in relief at the sound.
