Hello!Ā I know itās been forever since Iāve posted anything new here.Ā I promise Iāve been working on things whenever I could, but finding time and motivation has been challenging.

Chapter 25, pt. 4 - Promise
āMmm, so good.āĀ He had both elbows on the table, resting his chin on his closed fists.Ā He looked sleepy and satisfied.
We were sat at the recently cleared kitchen table, ignoring the pile of dirty dishes in the sink.Ā Nate and Lucy had been excused from their nightly dishwashing duty because they both had to finish their Science Fair projects due the next day, leaving Ed and me alone in the kitchen.Ā The aroma of chili con carne still lingered.Ā
āI never had chili with meat growing up - we were a veggie house.ā
āWhat was that like?ā
āIt was fine,ā he shrugged.Ā āI didnāt know any different until I wasā¦like, 10.Ā My first taste of bacon made me a carnivore on the spot.ā
āI donāt know if I could go veggie.ā
āYa love meat too much.āĀ
āYou know it.āĀ I nodded my head, completely failing to keep a deadpan expression.Ā Ā Ā
He grinned unapologetically.Ā āHey, sweet girl.ā
