“Uhh no, I’m not having this, sorry. I’m about 110% certain it’s impossible to ride a broom through the Forbidden Forest without sustaining at least one injury”
kinqsleys:
“ Hasn’t anyone ever told you patience is a virtue? Maybe if you stopped staring and distracting me, I’d be ready to go sooner. “
“Trust me, man I definitely wasn’t staring. I’m just astounded by how long you take to get ready, and i grew up with three sisters”
sorinxxflyin:
“Yes on a Tuesday night…less talking more partying then.”
“....Alright well, you’ve twisted my arm then. But only if you can absolutely guarantee that there will be either firewhiskey, ice cream or at the very least chocolate.....or all three”
sorinxxflyin:
“Come join me. I’m throwing a hallway party to dissolve all the darkness in the castle.”
“....On a Tuesday night?....i mean i like your optimism though man. ”

A smile pulled at the corner of her lips as she counted the stones as they walked, eventually she shrugged before looking up at him. “And what exactly do people think I’m like?”
Shrugging briefly, a smile threatened to twitch at the boys lips, willing to reach its way into his navy hues. “Like what they want you to be like. I think people assume that you’re something, and you just seem to let them. Maybe because you recon it’s easier, maybe because you forgot that you don’t have to be what other people expect you to be” The smile on his lips was warm and gentle, even despite the pain in his back, he couldn’t not smile at the girl before him. Shrugging once more, his gaze fell to the floor. “Or y’know, maybe i’m totally wrong” Speaking nonchalantly, he could now see the Hospital wing ahead, he sighed in relief.

As competitive as Mary was she could never understand how anyone on her team could be embarrassed by the game they had played that night. Had the game really only been a few hours ago? It seemed like forever ago… “see it’s such sweet words like that that made me take a bludger for you, you fool.” She joked, rolling her vivid blue eyes until all you could see for a split moment was the white of her eyes. A sudden and uncharacteristic look of seriousness over took Mary’s usual care-free grin, as she noticed the pain in her friend’s face. She was moving closer to him before he even got all the words out. She gripped his hand, careful to avoid his hurt fingers, and wrapped his arm around her neck. She was about half a foot shorter then him at least and holding him against her was awkward.”Come on let’s get you somewhere safe. Keep that wand at the ready… just in case.” She said as she slid her other arm around his waist. This wasn’t the first time she had to help someone to the hospital wing. “You are welcome but please never say that again. It’s starting to sound dirty.” She said scrunching her up as she stared up at him, taking a few steps down the hallway with him at her side.
Without being able to hold back, Ted let out a soft, though genuine chuckle. Maybe it was fact he needed sleep, terribly or maybe it was because he had gone beyond fear and into ever so slight hysteria, but he felt as though he needed to laugh. “I think that might only be in your head, MacDonald. It says alot about a person when they find everything dirty” Managing only just to slightly nudge her, far softer than he would have done under different circumstances. His smile faltering only just as he peeked around the corner. “I recon we’re safe. Honestly, Mary you don’t need to carry me there, i’m fine. Just worn out” Trying his best to smile reassuringly, he did his best to put all his weight back on his own two feet. “See” He said slowly.
andromcdx:
She couldn’t help but look up at him when he said the nurse wasn’t his type, there was a somewhat hopefully look in her eyes that she could hold back, as if waiting to hear him say that she was his type. When he didn’t she looked down, focusing on the stones of the corridor, trying not to feel stupid. “Someone like you? – Oh… fuck them. Fuck what they think. You need help, and I’m not about to leave you, no matter the status of your blood. Which means very little to me, by the way.”
Raising a hand to rub at his temple, he must have hit his head because he was talking absolute nonsense. He did like Andi, but he had decided to ignore it for countless reasons, not to mention the fact he was pretty sure the Blacks would have several things to say about it. Blinking away the blurriness in his vision, his gaze fell back onto her, and almost automatically his features softened. “You’re not like what people think you are. Are you...”

Even if he was targetted by the vampires, Kenneth was still a prefect, and he still wanted to make sure younger students got to the Ravenclaw common room safe and sound. He was still out there, doing rounds in the halls despite the danger that was roaming the castle when he heard a voice. Everything was so quiet, he jumped a little, startled by the sudden appearance of someone. “I think everyone’s in their commons by now.” Ken replied, easing up a little as he sincerely hoped the vampires were gone.
There was a voice echoing in his head saying that he definitely should back to the Gryffindor tower now. He was sure that everyone was safe and back in their dorms by now, they had to be. Just as he went to turn a corner, he heard a voice answer him, which initially made him jump and automatically tighten his grasp around his wand. As he turned round to see who had spoke, he breathed a deep sigh of relief. “Christ sake, Kenneth....” Ted said breathlessly. “You gave me a bloody heart attack”
macknickers:
Nothing in his demeanor made Mary actually believe his first answer to her question and when he stopped laughing she definitely knew there was no way she wasn’t going to get his ass to the hospital wing, as much as she hated that infernal place. She bent down again to pick up the shield she had dropped, without her wand it was the only source of protection she had for herself, plus she had heard rumors that the shields held by the suits of armor deflected most major curses. Of course if those things were shooting off unforgivable curses, the shield would be useless. “Can you walk, or do you need to lean on me? I’m here if you need me.” She said, very glad she had run into Ted. If it had been someone else, someone she hadn’t spent the last few years around she was sure she’d still be a huge mess incapable of helping anyone. It was like a flip had switched inside her as soon as she saw he was in pain. “Is going all Macdonald on you a good thing, because I’ll let you know it sure was a damned good thing during the game. If I hadn’t taken that Bludger for you earlier you probably would have been passed out in the hospital wing when this all happened…As far as I’m concerned you should be thanking me and hoping I MacDonald it all up again. It’s what I’m good at.” She teased, uncertain. She just wanted to lighten the mood. It was one of the only things she really excelled at. Jokes and flirting. God knows she wasn’t good at holding onto her wand. It was a good thing she wasn’t dreaming of becoming an Auror like her brother Micah.
“Please” Ted retorted, with a playful snort. “If it wasn’t for me saving all those shots on goal our embarrassment would have been much worse, so from that stand point....i’m the real hero here, and I would have dodged that bludger myself, thank you very much. Ye of little faith” Attempting to laugh, although the pain in his ribs did not allow him to do so. Instead what left his lips was far closer to a whimper. He didn’t really like the idea of hanging around the corridors much more, even although he was almost certain that they were safe, he didn’t really fancy finding for sure. Especially with the state he was currently in. “Mary.... can you just....i might need to lean on you” Gaze falling to the floor as he spoke with certain defeat in his voice. “Thank you for going all MacDonald on me”
macknickers:
Mary thought she was losing it. She was laughing like a young girl who found out some hot boy had a crush on her.”You are right,” she said though the laughter. “You do win.” She was only too thrilled to hear the sound of Ted’s laugh mingling with her own. If he was laughing too, that meant she wasn’t as crazy right now as she had thought she was. Watching the boy stiffen was as sobering as a slap in the face. concern washed over her like an avalanche of feelings. It all felt like too much. “Merlin’s pants Ted. Are you in pain? We could probably get you to the hospital wing…” As much as she didn’t want to head back down to the first floor, if Ted was hurt she couldn’t do much to help him. she had very minimal healer training so far. not that she could do anything without her wand anyway…
“I don’t know.....” He trailed off, in answer to her asking if he was hurt. His laughter trailed off suddenly as another stab of pain seemed to corse through his spine, causing him to wince aloud. “Okay.... i might be.....but don’t go all MacDonald on me, I’ll be alright” He said weakly, though managed to twitch a smile on his lips that almost reached his blue hues. “I just...i might need help, to y’know....get there” Defeat was clear in his eyes as they watched her, the young boy wasn’t used to asking for help, and he knew that he shouldn’t still be outside of safety, given his bloodstatus and the nature of the attacks. But he just wanted to help. “And yes, i just used your name as a verb”
macknickers:
Legs twinging in pain and exhaustion, Mary finally stood infront of the boy, close enough to see the pain in his own face. Merlin this was all a mess, neither one of them really had a chance to rest and heal from that game, which now seemed like it happened a million years ago. She took a deep breath and listened to him speak, the sound of his voice calming her with every word. It took a huge weight off her shoulders to know that at least the younger Gryffindors were alright. Hopefully her brother was as well. His Ravenclaw Prefects had to see to that as Mary was in no shape to go looking for him on her own. “Third floor?” she said, her words somewhat dreamy and distracted as she looked around at the surroundings. How did she get to the third floor? Suddenly she remembered the vampires and panic filled her once again. As she raised her hands to check her neck for any puncture wounds, she forgot about the sheild still in her hands and smashed the heavy thing into her chin. More pain rang through her head, lights danced in her vision but she felt nothing except relief. “I’m fine, I think I might have a concussion…” She said, finally dropping the shield from her grasp. “I think a vampire called me filth.” she said in a fit of laughter.
Hearing her speak calmed Ted immensely, it was so nice to hear such a familiar voice, it seemed like forever since he had felt so calm. A soft smile twitched at his features, even despite his pain, and whilst his right hand was still bandaged from Quidditch and hung loosely by his side, his left had been clutching his wand so tightly, there were indents to his palm, thanks to his nails. That grip loosened as he began to calm. The sheer panic of the night had taken him completely by surprise, after loosing the Quidditch match, all he had wanted was to see a certain Slytherin girl who had invited herself into his heart, though even that seemed unlikely now. The whole situation reminded him of something his muggle Grandmother used to always say about impossible scenarios. ‘If you didn’t laugh, you would cry’ Watching Mary giggle, he himself began to laugh. “Well, one of them called me a mudblood and cast some kind of curse on me to throw me against a wall.....so, i win” He said through soft chuckles. Tensing slightly, when the movement of simple laughter seemed to cause pain to radiate more in his spine. Sucking his teeth in slightly, he closed his eyes tightly for a moment. “I think they used one of the unforgivables on me”
macknickers:
Mary’s heart thumped loudly in her chest as she stalked down the corridors, somehow she had gotten lost again. She was certain she had a concussion, but whether it was from getting a bludger to the face during the game or getting slammed into a suit of armour by some vampire fledgling she couldn’t really tell at this point in time. She lifted the shield she had taken off the suit of armour and continued walking, hoping to not run into another creature of the night. “Ted?” she said quietly, her throat raw. She could have sworn she heard her teammates voice, she peered around the corner and saw him. Never had she been so happy to see him. “Ted!” She said running out towards him, shield still in hand. “Are you okay? Do you know whats going on? Is anyone else safe? What floor are we on?” She shot the questions out in rapid succession, without pausing to wait for an answer.
Slumping against a wall as he waited to hear for someone, anyone to call out to him, he inhaled deeply, trying his best to ignore the fact his head was bleeding and his back was searing with pain. He wondered if it had actually been a stupefy curse, or had it been something worse that he was struck with? He felt like there was a knife in his back, even although as far as he could tell, he wasn’t bleeding from his back. Getting ready to face the long walk back to Gryffindor tower, he nearly pulled himself from the wall when he heard a more than a familiar voice. He didn’t even have to wait for the light to show on her face to know it was Mary. He’d spent enough hours with her on the Quidditch pitch to know her voice a mile off. “Mary....calm down” He called out, waiting for her to near him. “Between me and Remus we found all the Gryffindors that were fourth years or younger and took them to the common room.....i think it was some kind of attack” Gasping loudly as he managed to pull himself from the wall and stand relatively straight. “We’re on the third floor, and all the Professors are awake now.....i’m pretty sure whoever it was.....they’re gone. Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
andromcdx:
Andi chuckled at the idea of Madam Pomfrey thinking the boy was smitten, “She’s not that bad to look out, fresh out of medi-school. Who could blame you really.” Looping her arm through his to steady him as she all but marched him towards the Hospital wing. “I’m not leaving you, don’t be stupid - you can barely walk.”
“Yeah....she’s not really my type” Stopping himself before he said anything else...was he going to say anything else? Maybe he had a slight concussion, and for some reason he could feel his cheeks threatening to tinge red. “....not that i have a type” Raising his capable hand to run through his hair, he laughed nervously as he started to walk once more towards the hospital wing. “Well, thanks, I just meant that if someone saw you with someone like me....y’know especially after tonight....I don;t want to get you in trouble”
andromcdx:
“Oh shut up. I told you I’m fine.” She scolded, holding onto his arm a little tighter. The look on his face was heartbreaking, but she was also worried about him being more hurt than he was letting on. She looked over her shoulder again; “You three, get back to your doors. Right now. Don’t stop for anything, and for the love of God don’t do anything else stupid tonight.” She then turned back to Ted, eyes kinder than they’d been with the third years. “And you, are coming with me, to the hospital wing. Again.”
Initially Ted opened his mouth to argue again, but he gave in. Attempting to smile at the younger students as they hurried past him, though it looked to be more of a grimace. “I think that Madam Pomfrey is going to start thinking i have the hots for her or something, the amount of times i’ve been there tonight” Though, admittedly most of his journeys there earlier were to bring students to her or to check that none of his friends were injured, and the first time of the evening was all thanks to a very angry and rough Quaffel throw, though he had almost completely forgotten about that game. “You don’t have to come with me, Andi. Honestly i’ll be okay...”
andromcdx:
“Yeah, I’ll get them back to their dorms. They should never have been out of bed in the first place, I’d deduct points from them all if they weren’t terrified and probably won’t do it again in a hurry…” She noticed the way he flinched, and as he moved forward she had already started moving towards him. “Forget about me - are you okay? Are you hurt? You look hurt… we should get you to the hospital wing…” Her hand rest on his forearm, genuinely concern for the boy who looked like he was struggling to hold himself up.
A soft chuckle left Ted’s lips as he looked at the students in the corner. “Certainly picked a great night to break the rules guys” Casting a friendly wink at them as they chuckled nervously. His eyes falling back onto Andi, his smile faltered slightly. “I think one of them cast a very strong stupefy on me.... thankfully the wall broke my fall” Trying to laugh once more, though the pain prevented him to do so, so instead he winced outloud. He could still hear whatever it was that attacked him whispering that word into his ear. The memory of which, took away smile from his features. “....I’ll be alright, you should make sure you get back to the Dungeons safely” He said weakly
andromcdx:
She almost ran to him, just out of relief of seeing a friendly face, but she didn’t - she stopped herself. There was a cut on her cheek, and one on her forehead that had been bleeding, her hair was a mess of tangled curls, and her knee really hurt from a fall on the stairs, but she was alive, and so were the third years she’d risked it all to help - so was he. That’s all that mattered. “I’m fine - I think, little battered, few bruises… but alive.” She replied, glancing over her shoulder into the classroom. “Are you okay? Is it all clear….?”
Ted’s gaze momentarily fell to the younger students cowering behind Andi, causing his features to soften slightly. “They should probably get to sleep...” Trailing off as he looked over his shoulder behind him. “Yeah....i mean as far as i could tell, the Professors are all awake i think” Flinching slightly as turning caused the pain in his back to sharpen briefly. “But you’re okay are you?” Without really thinking about it, he walked slowly closer to her, frowning with slight worry as his eyes scanned her face.
