Could i please request yandere Akechi from Persona 5 hcs? so sorry if this didn't come in at the right time! you said it'd be all through today, so i hope it's okay? thank you very much!
Okay, so just a warning this MIGHT be inaccurate as I learned Persona 5 through Summary and Analysis videos. I was not going to watch 29 hours of cutscenes on YT.... However, I took a ton of notes on Akechi using his wiki too, so while this might not be plot heavy... It's still me using his character traits and speculating on how they can be used as yandere behavior as usual.
‼️SPOILERS FOR PERSONA 5 AND AKECHI'S CHARACTER‼️
Yandere! Akechi Goro HCs
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Reader, Possible OOC Akechi, Obsession, Manipulation, Delusional behavior, Possessive behavior, Controlling behavior, Violence, Blood, Murder, Isolation, Clingy behavior, Jealousy, Stalking, Guilt-tripping, Toxic relationship (Platonic/Romantic), Coercion, Forced relationship/companionship.
Upon doing research on Akechi... I've determined that he's actually great yandere material.
I say this because of his deception in the game and the fact he's a lonely character.
In public he constantly has to maintain an act.
In public he is well-mannered, friendly, humble, and incredibly charismatic.
He's known to be handsome according to those around him and is popular with many.
Not everyone... Yet he has a following due to being a skilled young detective.
So much so the POLICE trust him....
He's intelligent and can easily manipulate others with his words.
After all, who wouldn't trust someone of his status?
He acts like he has a strong sense of justice... in reality he actually just wants vengeance due to the fact his father has caused him so much pain.
He's an illegitimate child and rather lonely as he became an orphan at a young age.
He has no real friends... mostly because people only like him due to his fake personality.
He's a trickster because he feels like he has to be.
Akechi has a lot of traits that make him good yandere material.
He's deceptive, a manipulator, yearns to be loved for who he is and accepted, can be rather obsessive in his goals, easily jealous, and quite lonely.
Not only that... but the guy has killed to fulfill his goals too.
So him killing people over his obsession? Well...
If he feels it's the right thing to do, he most likely would.
Akechi is also shown to see other people as corrupt.
It would make sense if he feared others corrupting or hurting you... which would spur him into killing them for his warped view on justice.
Alright, now that I have that covered... let's talk about what he could do as a yandere.
Keep in mind this will all be before Joker.
Akechi doesn't have anyone close to him.
No true parents, no friends, no romantic partner even though people sometimes throw themselves at him.
He lives alone and keeps to himself... unless he is in public...
Which is where he masks his true self in order to keep up this act he plays.
I can at first see Akechi using his usual act to impress his obsession.
One way or another he finds you intriguing, which leads to him wanting to catch your attention.
It could honestly be something as simple as you speaking your mind or being true to yourself... while he is a man of constant deception.
Akechi pretends to be this popular man who has suddenly caught interest in you.
He's someone who schemes elaborate plans to make things go his way.
So him planning a way to 'bump into you' sounds in character in my eyes.
He'd probably try to play it off as something accidental.
Then he tries to charm you, giving you an award-winning smile as he apologizes and introduces himself, asking for your name.
I feel like Akechi could be either a platonic or romantic yandere.
His demeanor works for both.
He'd befriend you using his perfect personality.
He wants to be perfect for his obsession.
Mostly because he's desperate for approval, especially from you.
I feel like for a long time he'd try to just get you hooked.
He'd manipulate you by being popular.
Isn't it nice to get attention from him?
He's handsome, popular, perfect for you...
Perhaps too perfect.
Something about him may feel... uncanny at times.
Akechi has shown to mess up lying before, so I can see him being sloppy as a yandere at times when trying to deceive you.
I think his original plan would be to 'wow' you before slowly showing his true self.
He tries to be this perfect friend, often inviting you to hang out with him on walks or restaurants.
He may even fall for you faster if you could pick up on his mask....
It makes him feel too vulnerable when you can see how lonely he really is.
Yet... If you accept him, if you tell him he doesn't need to hide himself in front of you when you two are alone...
You may see him get a little more desperate.
Akechi is a yandere who wants approval, acceptance, and love of any kind.
If you can give him that?
He doesn't plan to let you go.
Especially when there's so many people that could take you from him.
Akechi is someone who has been used... He wouldn't want the same for you so he'd view his behavior as protecting you.
Yet he's too delusional to see that he's just controlling you with his sweet words and need for your attention.
He'd definitely keep his "perfect" mask on around those he doesn't like around you.
Only to hunt them down for potentially "corrupting you".
It's an... eerie shift too.
The guy is cold when he confronts those he doesn't like around you in private.
I feel like there's a few ways he could confront rivals.
Like maybe at first he'd threaten them to stay away from you... that they aren't good enough for you.
If that doesn't work? He'd definitely resort to murder.
Maybe he corners them, a cold glare in his eyes before he kills them... probably with a gun... blood splattering on the floor.
Then since the police trust him so much... he plans to let the case go cold or blame someone else.
It would be two birds with one stone if he framed another rival for the death of one.
Then Akechi would go back to playing hero with you, quietly hiding his usual manic behavior to be your perfect person.
Due to his need for approval... Akechi would hide what he does behind the scenes by being overly attentive to you.
He's either your perfect best friend... the one who always knows what to say to comfort you.
That or he could be the perfect handsome boyfriend that spoils you and slowly isolates you.
Akechi would try to convince his obsession he's the only person they need.
He isolates them from friends and always sticks beside you.
Even when you two are away from one another... He's around to watch you from a distance.
I feel like even though Akechi might hate his past... He'd probably use it as ammo to guilt you into staying with him.
He tells you that you're his only true friend and/or partner... That he's so alone without you.
He's controlling and manipulative... Yet part of his act is true.
You are the only one he has close to him.
If you left... Who knows how he'd handle it?
He genuinely believes isolating you is the best thing for you.
He views others as corrupt, them and their desires could hurt you.
Ironic as he uses you for his own selfish reasons.
He may even try to have you move in with him as a roommate.
That way the apartment feels less alone... and he doesn't need to worry about you leaving him.
You mostly trust Akechi.
You never see his manipulation, his lies, or the fact he's murdered over you.
You just see your perfect companion... and maybe the stuff underneath he allows you to see.
You can tell he's a vulnerable man... so you try your best to be supportive.
Akechi... is addicted to that support.
It's approval... and he'd do anything for your genuine approval.
If you have a keen eye... you can probably tell Akechi is untruthful at times.
There's times he slips up... like saying something he shouldn't know.
Maybe he admits he's working on a certain case, the death of someone you knew, and says something that... doesn't sound right.
Something that only a murderer would know.
Yet then he brushes it off... saying to catch criminals... you need to think like them.
It's... enough to make you believe him.
Akechi, as I said before, is easily jealous.
He hates others around you, friend or lover.
Honestly... even if you were just friends he'd probably target your lover in secret.
He'd feel they're taking you away from him... and they can see you so intimately!?
He... won't allow it.
I feel like at times Akechi might be condescending?
He wants to feel like he's better than others and would definitely feel like he's the only one to take care of you.
He wants every ounce of your attention... and gets obsessive over making sure he gets it.
To him, it doesn't matter what it takes to have you.
Lies, murder, isolation... it's all just a price to pay to finally be seen how he wants to be seen.
You are his favorite person... and he'll continue to be who you think he is until you look too deep.
Even when you do, when you look past his mask and see the truth...
Do you really think he'd let you go?
You trying to leave him would shatter his mask... and you may even see him go into a state of delusional mania.
There'd be a certain point he doesn't care anymore if he knows you're going to try and leave him.
He's given you all that he is... He's shown you his true self...
Yet you run?
He'd probably hold you down if you tried to run.
He tells you what he's done, all the murders and blood... it was to protect you.
That's a lie... he's jealous... he hated them for having you.
He tells you that going to the police wouldn't make a difference.
That's probably one of the scariest things about him.
The fact you can't go to the police and get help doesn't give you many options.
When they see Akechi... they just see an intelligent detective.
Not a manipulative possessive murderer.
Akechi tells you he won't hurt you, he never could...
But if you don't play along... He'll find other ways to make your life hell.
So... you end up being coerced into staying by his side.
He confesses that you're the only person who has ever truly seen him.
So that's why you're punished is it?
For being nice?
Akechi continues to isolate you until he's your entire world.
He praises you and showers you in attention, acting his usual charismatic yet clingy self.
He often hugs you regardless of your bond... as though reassuring himself you're still there.
You may be miserable, you may be scared....
Yet Akechi has you for himself.
He'll melt that fear away eventually... even if you can see the corruption in his heart while he cannot.
In his own twisted way... Akechi loves...
Or maybe he just wants you for himself to keep that feeling of being acknowledged he's yearned so much for.
